Pretty underwhelmed by the full album. The best stuff were the tracks that were all released early.

The final track (Drones) has to be heard to be believed. Absolutely pants on head retarded.

Had my first listen on the way in to work this morning. Obviously starts off great with all the tracks we are familar with but the latter half started to get a bit too operatic for my tastes. Highlight was Reapers, WOW what a track!

It seems all the tracks we got early were the best ones. The Globalist isn't as good as I was expecting as many have been saying it's the best thing since sliced bread. The last track is also terrible IMO.

Favourites: Dead Inside, Psycho, Mercy, Reapers and Defector.

Mine should arrive today. Looking forward to playing it twice and plopping it on the disappointment pile.

saw them on Jools... yet again, I just cannot click with this band... always sounds the same to me! and why doesn't Bellamy connect with an audience? when I saw them at Glastonbury a few years ago, he said pretty much nothing to the audience, whereas on Graham Norton last week he seems to be able to talk OK? odd...

Perhaps they think they are a band like Pink Floyd, the elaborate stage show says it all?

Audience interaction has never been their forte, they've gotten better at it in the last couple of years though.

It's an album of two halves for me. Really like the first half, and really dislike the second.

Agreed, I guess expectations were a tad too high for me. It's certainly no Citizen Erased.

I'm quite liking Aftermath, sonically it sounds real nice on a decent set of speakers.

I think it's a good album, a few filler songs but then Muse never have been consistent and making a stomper from start to finish.

Reapers, The Handler, Psycho and Detractor are all songs that will play well live I imagine. They mentioned on Graham Norton that they'll be back next year for more UK live shows so that's something to look forward to.

Well, between 4 mins 27 sec and 6 mins 32 sec on The Globalist is just fantastic, shame the rest of the track isn't up to it.

Reapers and Defector are fantastic from start to finish.

Yeah, the "2nd act" of The Globalist is tremendous. The rest is bobbins.

It's growing on me. I think it's strong overall and, as stated, they rarely produce a complete album. This one has less filler than, for me, the last two. Though there are tracks on the last two that remain firm favourites.

In fact, stone me for this, Madness, with its build up to the final chorus finds a place in my top songs of all time.

Below Invincible mind......................

First half of the album really works in sequence, hearing the tracks individually I was really unsure, apart from Dead Inside....second half is complete pants!

Hopefully it'll be a grower (the second half that is)

I agree with that. But after several listens I really like the 2nd. In fact, it's pretty much all killer no filler IMO. (I loved the 2nd law but would have dropped about 5 tracks!)

I like picking out bits of stuff from Muse albums. The Reaper has Madonna's Express yourself as a chorus. The Handler has (naturally) Bach's toccata and fugue. There's a shed load of Queen and a lot of it sounds like Extreme's waiting for the punchline.

Second-half is definitely growing on me & it definitely has less duff tracks than the last couple of albums.

I'm trying to figure out where I've heard the Defector before. Bits of Jellyfish?

The guitar intro to Aftermath sounds like One by U2 and can't seem to get that out of my head now that I've realised it!

Thing with Muse is that everything sounds like something else. I think that's a mark of a good writer. I think........

(I'm declaring this a great album, every bit is growing on me)
