Sounds more in-line with The 2nd Law to my ears, bit like a spiritual successor to Madness.

Yeah, preferred Psycho - I want hard distorted guitars please.

Dead Inside is growing on me, prefer Psycho.

There was a time where I didn't even like this band, found them annoying, however now seen them twice and one of the best live bands I have seen and looking forward to seeing them at Download.

Against my better judgement I've pre-ordered this, but it's last chance saloon for them. If it's as crap as the last couple of offerings I'm going to pretend their career finished at Black Holes and Revelations.

I don't like the studio version of Mercy, but it's got more "oomph" when played live.

Disappointingly, Dead Inside is pretty flat when performed live (going by the Radio 1 Norwich performance last weekend, anyhow).

Mercy is alright. I can see this landing on the pile of albums that are ok never to be listened to again, last one to hit that pile was the last Foo Fighters album.

Same. Mercy has grown on me quite a bit too (I think the live performances have helped).

A couple more live performances, for the hell of it:

The songs on the whole are alright, but they just sound that bit too over produced. The had the same over the top style in the old days but it was much more stripped down.

New song, The Handler, has popped up on iTunes. It's another guitar-heavy track.

Here is the playlist of new songs on Spotify - http://open.spotify.com/user/muse_of...ERJRt15nBIyyW0

Its nothing majorly new but quite like it so far. Nice guitar work on Defector.

Heard nothing but good things about The Globalist, that's the one I'm looking forward to hearing the most.

Overall of what we've been given so far, loving this album and prefer it over the last 2.

Can't wait for Download Festival.

I've read that The Globalist is a bit special too and a successor of sorts to Citizen Erased which is one of my all time faves.

Reapers studio version is every bit as epic as I was hoping and I'm really liking The Handler too.

Mercy so far is the only squib, my initial disappointment to Psycho has abated and it's properly got it's hooks into me. It's a stomping tune to play on guitar.

Looking forward to Monday, hope it arrives on time.

Hated Mercy at first, but quite like it now. Having trouble warming to Defector though.

Currently obsessed with Reapers and The Handler. I love Dead Inside too, but we've had that one for ages now.

I really like Mercy too. Better than Reapers IMO, which is a bit "segmented". Good bits individually but just chucked together to try and make a song. Which is too long as well.
