It's probably more of a case of they are the arm of Disney that deal with TV productions and make sure everything is ok from a licensing prospective rather then ABC broadcasting that commission shows.

Just watched the first episode, and am really impressed. If they can keep this up, will be the best tv adaptation so far.

Yes but if it had been in full on Steven S. DeKnight Spartacus mode.

Really, really liked this although it did slow down quite a bit after episode 6 and there was one too many overly emotional scenes, where everywhere felt the need to cry, for my liking. Also as mentioned above, Foggy looks like a dwarf, except he isn't. Nothing wrong with that, it's just distracting.
Great stuff though, roll on season 2.

The ending of Ep11 did not play out in the way i expected! All cliches are out the window in this series!!

I'm also routing for BabyVamp and Dwarf to get together

Does it have to be so brutal though? We were watching the 1st 3 episodes together as a family and thought there were a few squeamish moments it wasn't too bad. Episode 4 comes along and the finale of that episode spoilt it for us. It went too far and made my wife and daughters feel ill! I was okay as i'm a bit more desensitized but still felt it was unnecessary.

It's proper (15 rated) adult entertainment. The brutality is part of the character and the story.

If it had shakey cam "bourne style" fight scenes it would be **** and so sick of it. Glad they didn't comprise their vision for daredevil,

Currently 7 episodes in and its great. Along with The Walking Dead, its easily the best thing on tv right now.

It's not Smallville. It's not aimed at family entertainment, as are a few of the other Marvel characters such as The Punisher.

There are more than enough series for teens and I am very glad this one is gritty because it works. Best series I have watched for a long time and I have about 20 mins left on episode 12.

Finished it now, that was a great ending, Kingpin is a scary brute, especially when he goes full tantrum!

This sounds quite promising. Been trying to skim the thread so I don't spoil anything for myself.

One question - how "brutal is brutal"? Seen several mentions of the levels of violence in it so may not be acceptable in my wife's books. She's okay with Statham style fisticuffs and bloodletting, but anything too realistic/nasty she's not keen on.

It's violent for sure and for the most part the Jason Statham comment would hold true, but now and again it does go beyond that. I can think of one or two scenes that are way beyond that, although in truth much of it is implied rather than explicitly shown.
