Aaaaargh! Really want to see this!

Do you all have Sky, or are you all watching a 'naughty' version? (As I know it's not on any of the Freeview channels).

It's now streaming online for free on the Starz website. Bit ironic that a few of those here, who seem irritated by film piracy, seem to turn a blind eye to obtaining TV shows illegitimately, even doing so themselves

It's taking advantage of the forums special 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

The humour is great. Bruce Campbell is great but some of the cgi is just ****house. I know it's supposed to be like that but the exploding head was so bad. The blood looked ridiculous.

First flew along and was really enjoyable. Hope it keeps up.

isn't that kind of the point though, to retain some of the original b movie fun/humour/gore? If it was all realistic and lifelike it wouldn't be half the fun.

The 2nd film had some awesome practical SFX but the original has not aged well IMO. Given their budget etc they are acceptable, but HD doesn't help it!

To be fair the FX in the original were poor for their time. It was just the excess of them that made it spectacular to watch. I can still recall the first time myself & my Dad watched it together & we were howling with laughter at it then rewinding to our favourite scenes & grossing out my Mum.

The scene with the head explosion and the doll biting his finger looked so bad and crappy compared to the rest. When he shot the guys head off in his trailer they used practical effects but for the head explosion and doll blood they used horrible cgi. In fact the cgi is so bad they must have had to put in effort to make it look that bad.

Either way it all should be crappy cgi or none of it. It was the mix of bad v good that was jarring.

ep2.. How many clean t-shirts do these guys own?

I admit to wincing at one particular scene.

Thankfully despite the lack of Raimi directing/writing, ep2 retained the same look & feel & if you gauge how good it is based on how much blood is spilled, well you won't be disappointed!
