I can never tell whether you are being sarcastic or not I knew he was 'behind' it but I didn't realise how hands-on he was. Is there any legit way to watch this yet? Kinda want to support it properly even though I read they commissioned a second season already.

Highly entertaining. Every thing was almost perfect. The mad angles, the zooms, the slapstick. It rocked. I loved the scene with the doll And the bulbs

Apart from the CGI. I know it was done deliberately silly, like Starz Spartacus but man i hate it. Wish they'd just stick to practical fx.

Watched this last night. Just brilliant. So many laugh out loud moments and so faithful to the feel of Evil Dead 2 & 3.

I dont think anyone alive can deliver Ash's lines like Bruce Campbell does.

Very enjoyable throughout, with the two cops scene being the standout, capturing everything that makes Evil Dead great .... well apart from that final CGI exploding head shot, but we will forgive it for that little stumble.

Will be very interesting to see if the other directors will adopt Raimi's wacky camera angles & zooms.

The reviews by people that have seen the next episode are that, no, they can't keep up the same calibre as him, but who can?

I thought it was pretty good, but it wasn't the tone I would have liked.

I never understood all the slapstick of 2 and 3 much prefer the darker original.

Surely the slapstick humour, along with Campbell, is what sets it apart from the rest of the genre? Take that away and you're left with a bland, moster-of-the-week series.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that we already have Supernatural etc, so there would be no point.

Slapstick is fine as long as it's done well, like they did in Evil Dead 2.

The lightbulbs scene made me cringe but I enjoyed the Doll scene...

That was brilliant, way better than I was expecting. There's no way that doll scene should have worked but with Raimi in control it was great. Loved everything about it, especially how funny it was - "I told you it would cross your mind" .
Fingers crossed it's all this good.
