Plugged in my Dads, seemed to work well and fast for his needs, Lovefilm and Netflix.

I succumbed and plugged mine in. I not have Amazon and Apple sitting together. I've no idea why. I do quite like it though.

I was surprised at the size and thought it was very sleak, I cannot decide whether to have it downstairs (where I have no lovefilm access, just slow TIVO netflix) or upstairs where I watch most of the stuff.

Might compromise by bringing the upstairs BR player that does both downstairs

Got mine yesterday as well. Not tried much yet other than updating with the unblock-us dns settings which seemed to work fine with Netflix. Nice little box and looking forward to Netflix supporting voice control.

Does Netflix support individual users or is it just the Adult/Kids split?

It supports individual users,we have 4 users and it works fine.

I'm really liking this box ,have xbmc loaded, working great.
No longer have to air play xbmc to my Apple TV v3 from my iPad.
Also if you buy the game controller you get the game sev zero for free, which is currently £4.99

is anyone else having issues getting it to work with Sony speakers?
It is only outputting it to the left speaker in a 5.1 setup.

I have already spoken to Amazon but, surprisingly, they are not helpful just stating it is not designed to work with speaker systems (yeah I know)

before I return it just wondering if anyone had it working with external speaker systems using HDMI.

Mine seems to be working ok, it's connected to my amp via HDMI and I get 5.1 sound.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get unblock US working with it, so that I can watch Netflix from other regions like I can on my PS4?

Mine's going back, I don't like the interface and it doesn't do anything extra that my existing devices do (apart from the voice search on the remote).

I've been watching US Netflix the last few days changing the box DNS settings to use the unblock-us servers. Not tried any other regions yet but assume it should be fine

That's good to hear.

Novice question: How do I change the box DNS settings?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to cancel, although given their free return policy I might just set it up and have a play.
What do you mean by "properly"? I've not noticed any issues yet with Plex.

I've heard it won't play DTS or DD, and it won't transcode raw files from source... It makes your media server do the hard work which causes problems with larger files.

Looking forward to hearing this isn't the case.

Hmm, originally bought this for my dad with the intention of hooking up an external HDD and using it with XBMC, as it can't be rooted and used with USB drives it looks like it's it's going back to Amazon. Seems a shame as at £50 it was ideal.

Are you saying that you can change the DNS setting on the device?

I'm keeping mine, I reckon.

Plex working well, and netflix, and amazon support covers all bases. Some handy extras like live tv for some channels via the TV app.
