I look forward to them pulling a How I Met Your Mother & making the last 2 seasons take place during Leonard & Penny's wedding...

That's a fairly quick turnaround.

It's only on a Monday until the back end of October when it moves back to Thursday. The move is due to the Thursday Night Football that CBS have new on this year.

Bonus is double episodes for the first several weeks too!

Series may be delayed as Penny, Shelly and Lenny haven't signed their contracts yet. They are asking for a raise from $350,000 to $1,000,000 per-ep. Chuck thinks they deserve it and I kinda do too as CBS/WB must be making millions on re-runs alone.

Would have thought they deserved it, it'd be at this point in a shows cycle that the stars would be looking fo $1m an episode. If Charlie Sheen deserved it.

I'd suggest the money would be better spent on decent writers before this becomes as bad as HIMYM.

But I agree with rbullivant - I'd rather the 'talent' got it than the suits.

The Big Bang Theory is estimated to earn Warner around $3 Billion in profits.

I think they can afford to pay the leads whatever they want.

I'm guessing in total. But either way, it's enough isn't it?

I suppose it will be syndicated for ever more, if E4 only paid $1000 every time they showed an episode then this must be about $1bn of the profits.

I'm always unsure why some shows get cancelled because I'd have thought they'd be able to muster up enough foreign sales, etc. to make them profitable.

US channels are VERY blinkered and think about local markets only, they'll kill a show in 2 eps if its not performing at home because if its not performing here it won't anywhere.

That's one of the benefits of the cable channels in that they'll give a show the chance to find itself and an audience.

Network TV kills it in a fortnight if not enough 16-25 year olds are watching, which befuddles me to why advertisers care about this demographic so much. They don't have any money to buy your crap...

Are the advertisers actually thinking that far ahead? As in when this youth market has the cash to buy stuff you indoctrinated them into desiring 10 years ago?

Who watches adverts these days anyway. The Cast are probaly thinking to stack the money now so they dont need to work again in the future.
Could get weird if 3 have signed at 350k and the other 3 get 1Mill as that will get cold and ugly quickly unless they all get 1 Mill.
