My OpenElec, admittedly running on a PC does all those things...

Yeah, that's not what XBMC should be like. Hard to say where you've gone wrong though.

Can you give us a screenshot or movieclip?

I started using XBMC (Opnelec) a short while ago and without doubt it the best way of keeping a media collection I've seen.

Have you actually scanned your collection?

Updated to Openelec 5.0.8 and now the movie scraper won't work. Going to try rolling back to the previous version. Seems strange it doesn't work as the latest version has been out a while.

Have you tried the OE6 beta? I've been using it for a few weeks with no issues. I've never used any movie scraper on OE though.

Wouldn't I lose all my settings if I upgraded to the OE6?

It's completely borked... I didn't realise a restore wouldn't rollback the openelec version.

Edit : Changed the scraper to Universal Movie Scraper and seems to be working. The stock one must be down for maintenance or something.

I think it will keep all your settings, but don't quote me on that.

If you need to rollback then download the zip file for the version you want and add it to your Update folder.

Then reboot and it will roll it back and keep all your data and settings. It might go back to the stock skin, but that's just a simple change if you're not using it.

I've very recently decided to upgrade from my trusty Popcorn hour to a Pi3 and I'm using OpenElec with Kodi and everything seems to be working with very minimal effort.

However, the Kodi theme/skin I'm using displays my movies in a 2x5 grid. I was wondering if there was a theme or setting I should use to increase the number of movies displayed at any one time.

On my Popcorn Hour, I think I was displaying in a grid of maybe 9x5 or similar?

thanks in advance!

If you click left on your remote when looking at your moviewall then you'll get option for different layouts.

Different skins have different options as well. My personal skin preference is Amber which is nice and lightweight, should be ideal to try on a pi3.

Thanks - yeah I'd seen that but the display options are Thumbnail, Fanart, various list views and a few carousel views. I like the Thumbnail view but there's nowhere (at least in this skin that I can see) where I can adjust the number of items on screen.

I'll take a look at the Amber skin and continue tinkering. Thanks again!

After some tinkering it seems that the skin I was using simply didn't offer the view I desired. Changing the skin as you suggested has given me better options. Thanks for the pointer!
