No worries, sounds like you are cracking on pretty fast. You realise it will turn into an addiction!

I'm going to make another and see if it will sell. I can't bear to part with them, but I've made 12 now and I've only got so much space.

Cheers!

Been commissioned to make one for a 40th present. Making a gamer themed one. We'll see how that goes.

I made this for someone's 40th early next year, it's acoustic/electric, with an oak neck, cigar box body and pacman decals.

Acoustic demo...

Billy, I just walked past Davidoff on Jermyn street and they've got cigar box guitars for sale for £800. You're sitting on a gold mine

I doubt any of my previous efforts would get anything like that. I have however sold one, I only charged for it at cost.

I'm getting a workshop (large shed really) built next week so I'm going to try and make some decent ones. It will help to have all my tools handy and somewhere proper to work on them. Can't wait!

That's great. They look really excellent. Some of the comments below it are a bit and and .

My oil can one is probably the one I'm still most proud of. I've nearly finished my 15th guitar. I need to start doing something with them, and it had crossed my mind to sell them on ebay for charity and see what I get. I don't really need the money (I'm by no means rich) but I have a job and it's really just a hobby to me, not a second income.

Just finished a three string acoustic, based on Led Zep IV...

...and a stomp box, the mississippi drum machine (an old box with a pickup and some wood screwed onto it)...

Still need to get on and get mine built just had no time at all recently, I hit a problem trying to get hold of some decent lengths of wood and it all ground to a halt, got everything else ready to go....

Yeah getting wood is a problem (oo er). I've been keeping tabs on ebay, some joiners sell packs of offcuts on there, sometimes they are expensive though. I'm running out. I don't want to run the embarrassment of asking MKM for a few bits of wood.

I made a guitar out of an ammunition box. It sounds pretty damn good through an amp, it can handle all sorts of distortion having no sound holes, but it can be played acoustic by opening the latch and leaving the lid open. It's also easy to carry around with the handle.

Latest effort, a distressed guitar made to look like it was found in a house fire or something. Three string electric tuned GGB like Seasick Steve's 3 string transwonder.

I've been working on this 3 string cigar box guitar all week. I carved a bone nut and bridge and fretted the neck. The intonation is spot on, I'm pretty chuffed with it

cool thread.

I think with the experience you have so far, if you want to make some money, you'd be better commissioning something like the Guitar2-D2 guitar. Something like star wars / star trek etc... is going to have someone somewhere pay slightly over the odds for it. A really solid clean cut, well finished themed guitar would probably get you decent profit and trigger further commissions .
