It's a lump set aside for the kids, happy to leave it where it is as it's performed well overall, just not recently.

Fair enough.Premium Bonds have always been for people prepared to loose interest and to take a gamble on winning £25/1 Million.
For me now Premium Bonds is where you put money when you exhausted all interest accounts.
15k in a ISA or 15k in PM's.

I don't know why you keep posting in this thread. You've made your feelings perfectly clear, so why keep on?

Wow that's great I had a few £100 wins before the rates changed to bring in the £25 prize, but since then I think the highest I've got as a single prize was £50, but I'm not even sure if I'm right about that

Thanks, it's the biggest win for me, won £50 before. This will help pay for my Fleetwood Mac ticket which arrived today (ticket was £140).

You are hitting the target there of the predicted 1.3% of your investment.
Moneybox talked about this last year and said on max inestment you could be looking at 20-24 prizes a year on 40k if you are lucky and be lucky to ever win if you have a fiver in;-)
Ive left £50 in since Feb 2014(Prev 15k) and not won since(I didnt expect too) and in 2013 I won £100/150 max on 15k.

This is the time I said that I was going to withdraw a large chunk to fill my ISA allowance for the year, so I expect the next few months of "wins" to be even worse. Sad disappointment to have had pretty close to the max invested due to my usual ISA money going in there this year and still getting so little back, but it was always going to be a one-off gamble in a time of generally poor interest rates anyway.

With the max going up to £50k soon, then I think I'll probably withdraw entirely - though maybe leaving only £50 in there is the secret answer to finally winning something above £100?
