Think I'm going to have a Red Dwarf-athon this weekend. I know it will spoil the new series but I've not watched them in years.

Just remembering Terrorform (Teraform?) where they are in a boat in Rimmer's subconcious world, and Lister says 'Is it just me or are those frogs saying 'useless'?'

Retune your TV to move to the new freeview channel on Dave? Or am I missing something here?

I hope this is good -I love good red dwarf - but being honest since rob grant left - there's been precious little - the coronation street /blade runner episodes were pretty poor and predictable - in fact aside from tikka to ride and Cassandra which were ok - the good stuff finished at the end of series 6 - my personal favorite series were 1 and 2 - love the comedy mixed with extreme bleakness ---- and I have to say as Doug Naylor said Kryten and holly is too much together - but for me I'd probably rather have holly if I had to choose . Would quite like to see Chloe anette back - but classic red dwarf is 1 human, the last human alive possibly plus 3 companions on a massive mining ship lost in space - no aliens - everything they encounter is a human creation. Not sure I can choose cave episodes - almost all in series 1 to 5 is gold, series 6 a tad weaker I think

I've just watched series 8 in readiness for this.
I hated Back to Earth and wasn't keen on series 7 but I think series 8 was a 'near miss'. The scenes with Capt Hollister were disappointing but there were some great episodes and some excellent scenes. I thought the 'appeal' in relation to the guitar strings was genius.
Had they got rid of Krytie TV and shrunk series 8 down to just the best five episodes in order to miss out some of the filler that series would have been more fondly remembered.

I thought series 8 was the best the show had been in years, myself. Certainly a massive improvement over series 6 and 7. I know that series 6 is generally regarded as a highlight, but it's near the bottom of the pile for me. I just hated the fact that they weren't on Red Dwarf anymore.

I think without the two part episode 'Pete' you would have a six episode series that is quite strong.

Its by far not his best, but it was all watchable. They're such good characters.

Really looking forward to tonights episode, they must think highly of it as they're following it with a classic episode Camille!
