If it's yours or a friends band, there's another thread for that somewhere - i'm always interested in listening to new music

No worries I did get a bit over enthusiastic. I can restore the original post for a while if people like as I copied it over from Word.

In my original post I was trying to highlight 3 under the radar / overlooked bands (in the UK) that are largely in that position because they contain some Christian band members and have been pigeonholed into the Christian music genre despite none of them wanting to be labelled as such.

I'm not a religious person at all but I love these bands and two of them deliberately make their song meanings open to interpretation helping their songs mean different things to different people; I think that is partly where the power and appeal of these songs lies. I think the important things is that their music could appeal to anybody so I thought I would post some of their videos.

So originally I posted music videos from 3 different bands but I'll keep it to just the band I have been listening to today.

Not really listening to but I visited Abbey Road on Sunday for one of their open days & lectures. Fantastic afternoon....its not cheap but if you get the chance go and do it. I got to mess on the piano that was used on Penny Land and Lady Madonna, and the Celeste that Floyd used on the opening of Time...

Really enjoying Lucero's new album, "Among The Ghosts".

Singer Ben Nichols is the brother of film director, Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special) who has made a video inspired by the song "Long Way Back Home". It stars frequent collaborator, Michael Shannon.

Haven't heard of this band before, I'm liking what I hear of this album on first listen.

Currently listening to Yaeji. An American of Korean descent, she sings/raps/whispers in both languages over house beats. Basically got her on repeat.
Heard her on John Ravencroft's Introducing show on 6Music.

A new artist to me, but I'll be checking out his back catalogue.
Steve Gunn's new album, The Unseen In Between is terrific.
"Vagabond" is probably the most commercial song on there, but if you love guitar albums with a bit of a difference, this may well be for you.

[EDIT] - I've added a review of the album on my blog

This is a follow up to post #1487 which featured all those Red videos, but originally was also about Lifehouse and Switchfoot as well...

Anyway, I’ve recently discovered Collective Soul, a band which is probably quite well known in the United States but hasn’t had a top 75 album or single in the UK. They seem to straddle both rock and pop more effortlessly than most bands, with lots of catchy songs and guitar riffs; while their albums, especially the first 7 or 8 are so consistently good I’m shocked that I’ve only just discovered them. Some of their songs do have a religious element or interpretation to them but I wouldn’t let that put you off if you haven’t listened to them much before. I sinmply couldn’t imagine my music collection without them - awesome band. I wouldn’t recommend their most recent 2015 album as your first album though, it is more of an acquired taste compared to their other albums IMO. Their tenth album should be released very soon it is double album called Blood.

Edit: I found this.

Edit again: Maybe I should add a video or two

I’d love to see an alternate version of that video, recorded just after they’ve had a domestic.
