Must be approaching 20? years since the first mention of the Scarlet Gospels.

I'm a little concerned how much involvement Clive has had with the final polish of this book...the editor seems to if been more involved than I thought they usually were.

Hope the short stories originally planned for the original Gospels see the light of day...maybe as a money spinning new volume of the Books Of Blood!

Typical...just went to order the Stealth repress of the Books Of Blood...it's sold out!

The official website has some interesting info on how the final book got beaten into submission.
It's a hardback + kindle purchase for me!
Hoping Clive gets back to finishing Abarat 4 and 5 now before GRRM starts complaining he's taking too long to finish them , although considering he nearly died a couple of years back taking things slowly is probably for the best

Abarat 4 was moving along nicely...until I read that Clive felt he needed another 130 paintings for it.

Don't mind waiting for the art work, such an integral part of the books for me, even with quite long waits between books I find them very easy to get back into.

Why is authors these days start book series for children with a defined story arc unlike say the Narnia books that were just sequels and take so much time to write them that by the time the last volume is out only readers of the penultimate volume will still be at school ?

I have linked to a clip of Andrew Robinson in my post...using my phone it only seems to want to go at the top of the post above your quote for some reason.

Cool, although for some reason I would have preferred a making-of book like the Star Wars and Indi ones

My copy should be dropping through the letterbox today! It's been one hell of a wait!

Ditto,

Nearly double dipped on kindle version but got whole bank holiday weekend off and nothing else planned

Always seems like such long wait for a new book, but this one has been painful, hope it's worth it.

Forgot to post here, bar the usual Limited Editions etc...Waterstones were selling a Limited Edition that had blood red page edges. I didn't bother as the Amazon price was too good to resist, but some of you may be interested.

Watched the first DVD of the new Barker documentary Leviathan!

4.5 hours on Hellraiser 1...enjoyable enough, but not sure it told me anything more than I already knew.

This project has really suffered from Barker and Laurence not being involved.

There is nothing new in either of the 4 hour documentaries that we didn't find out from the commentaries on the Anchor Bay boxset.

Pete Atkins and Geoff Portass save this from being a complete waste of time. The producers made us think that Claire Higgins involvement was the be all and end all but in reality she has very little to say about either film.

Christopher Young doesn't go into his score on either film in any detail whatsoever, and come on...who really cares what the clapper loader has to say?

Shame

Was just in Barnes and Noble and thought of you lot, had an awful pinhead action figure (ReAction one). More like gridhead though as the pins are hardly there...
