Not very good news at all, all they will do is bring out the same catalogue as Littlewoods, Additions etc and put the Woolworths name on the front, sad news really

hmmm, I had been getting through on 08004960868. Not phoned in a week or so, just tried and it ends up with an american accent message, "No-one is available to take your call"

They have added http://www.landofleather.co.uk/Holdi...eClosures.aspx to the website holding page. Doesn't look like my local store is on it so far.

This Thursday the 5th is the end of my original delivery estimate, still a vague hope that someone might actually phone me and say it's en route

That Land of Leather number is working today.

My sofas are not in stock/transit/on order.

They have no more info at the minute, so wait and see basically

Got through to Land of leather in the end, you have to keep trying.
Got through to indian call centre who hadn't got a clue.
Wife said we need to know as we only have 120 days to claim back on credit card, they said no you don't, you can claim whenever.
My wife works in credit and knows the rules so let rip on them.
Call centre bloke was stunned, ha ha

Nationwide told me not to worry about the 120 days, I paid my deposit on Visa Debit card and they said I can fill in a dispute form over the 120 days and still get it back.

In answer to the "tell us what you liked about Woolworths" question that they've (already!) put up on http://www.woolworths.com/ - everyone put "pick and mix", "cold drinks" and "actual high street shops not just another online mess", just to **** them off.

I hope they got the name really cheap because after the way the liquidators handled everything it doesn't seem to be worth much any more to me.

Well you can see they have made the right decision about using .com rather than .co.uk:

Woolies never used .com to my knowledge, and just had it refer back to .co.uk - shame the new owners aren't quite that clever.

Another 17 branches of Zavvi have closed apparently.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2...avvi-recession

I was in the Liverpool store yesterday where banners were announcing that there was new stock in, although it had hardly drawn large crowds. And given it was mainly a case of more copies of the same old stuff, that's probably not surprising.

You do wonder at the logic though of knocking off percentages, but leaving on old price stickers that are higher than they should be. For example, our store seems to have gained a few more copies of Saxondale series 2, which are all stickered up at £20. Cunningly they've been put on the shelf in front of the copies stickered at £13.

And yes, I do realise that the staff are hardly going to be highly motivated at the moment. But you would have thought with shops beinng closed at the rate they are, they'd be doing what they could to keep their store's sales up. It's not as if they're rushed off their feet at the tills.

I see Derby was finally closed, was too close to a decent HMV to do any good. Was an ex-Virgin Megastore

The Zavvi in Southend has already been rebranded HMV and is open.

Bradford makes the cut yet again! Always thought it would be one of the first to go. Might have a wander in there on Monday, see if Iron Man bluray is back in at anything like a decent price.
