It's strange, I was quite looking forward to this last week, but now the time has arrived it's quite intimidating!

Anyway, it was raining by the time I got home and was ready to take some pictures, so I ended up with this.

Photo-a-day 01

I did at least learn something about my new camera, which was how to use the manual focus, so I've gain something from this already!

Pretty miserable here today so grabbed this opportunity while I could then realised I was a wally and still had the camera set on ISO1600 from the other night - doh! Too late to do much about it really!

I got home late and it has absolutely chucked it down. I tried, but failed miserably, to take shots of the rain so had to resort to my 'emergency' shot (promised myself no shots of the same type in this challenge) already and done a pretty feeble light painting.

Pad #1

Ho-hum, better to come I hope.

Will get my pic up as soon as I'm home - epic journey from Edinburgh to Colchester thanks to the joys of our fully integrated transport network.

Yup, that's what I meant - sorry for not being clearer! I know some people aren't keen on this for the blue border that appears around the picture because it's hyperlinked; you can get around this as some have already done in this thread using BBcode URL and IMG tags. For this I would recommend using AndyWilson's handy tool here - simply copy the code from box 1 as described by Highlander and click replace; it'll convert the code for you

OK Flickr subscription renewed. July 2008 set created. First photo taken.

1 July 2008

I tried taking a photo a day for July back in 2006 but it proved difficult with travel and conferences. This year should be different.

I was originally going to shoot a pre-visualised shot but noticed this police car with all the pylons in the background. I have no idea why it was parked (and occupied) down this side entrance to a parking lot but after it moved soon after I took this.

Nice pics everyone, favourite so far I think are the sports day one and the bee on the flower shot. I decided to go with this in the end for day one. Used a brilliant comic/cartoon action I downloaded off the net to give a very ordinary pic a bit of punch. I think some of these PS Actions one can find on the net could come in very handy over the next month

Day two - another lazy macro. It feels a little early to be cashing in emergency shots already, but anyway...

Nice shot, btw. Good colours.

Here's my first day's work/effort. Glad I managed to get something forthe first day.

This might sound daft - but what is it?!

Glad it wasn't just me then!

It's the back of an old roll film camera of some sort!
Where do I go to claim my prize?

Edit: the duck tape's the giveaway!

It's a close up of the back of the one on the right.
#2: Purple & #3: Red

Well done Woz, and it's not old, just cheap.
