Loco Great/Classic albums with not so great artwork??

I was just going through some of my CDs last night, and I put on 'The Bends' by Radiohead, haven't listened to it in aaaages.

Yes, a classic rock album but..... I started looking at the CD sleeve and I had almost forgotten how bad the design is!!!!

I know it doesn't actually reflect on the music (don't judge a book by it's cover etc.) but I still feel it's important.

Maybe I'm alone in thinking it's not a very appealing design??

Anyone else got any suggestions/thoughts?

Most or all of Radiohead's sleeves are ****, the only one I like being the Amnesiac book thing.

I like all the ones after The Bends - especially the Hail to the Thief one with the fold out map thingy

The Blind Faith album with the topless underage girl fondling a model plane on it. Who's idea was that?

I'd go for Depeche Mode's Black Celebration.

Well, I love Creed (I know some don't) and I love the album Weathered, but the cover breaks every Graphic Design rule in the book.

The new Sleepy Jackson album cover is a fantastic example of an ego gone wild.

I could probably mention hundreds of good albums with crap covers however but one that springs to mind is Accept's 'Balls To The Wall'. I remember coming home after buying it and leaving it on the kitchen table, my dad picked it up rolled his eyes and promptly put it down

he probably already had it, and was disappointed you'd not checked his record collection ...

One Beat by Sleater Kinney has a bloody awful sleeve design but is possibly their best album.
