Question Doc Martin

What happened at the end of the last programme in this series?? Annoyingly my sky cut off just as he came out of his surgery and started to talk to Louisa (spelling?). Really appreciate any help anyone gives that tells me what happens at the end as Doc Martin seems to be one of only a few ITV shows NOT repeated

It was a really good episode with a good ending I think!

She actually told him that she loved him too!

He then turned into his old self and says "How can you know you love me you hardly know me. Sometimes people think they love someone and they don't really it's a medical complaint" etc.., or words to that effect.

He then does his usual medical waffling as the camera pans away and you hear her give him a slap!

This worked quite well as it leaves it open for more of the same in the next series!!

Ta I missed the end too.

Its ITV's fault not Sky+ as they always over run after 9pm. I wish Sky+ had a PDC-like operation, the add 3-5 mins option isn't a good idea either (Sky Tech Support even say leave it on auto) as it causes lots of program clashing.

I missed the ending as well so thanks for that.

And what a great ending to a great series. The writers came up with a master stroke in the first series regarding Louisa's dental routine and now this.

Can't wait for the next series now.

I still think the Sky movies were better, I wish they'd not messed with the format each time they remade him. First DM was the wacky backy smoking Dr in Saving Grace, then we had the 2 Sky movies which were a bit more like the TV version (but better) and now this, and I don't think series 2 was a patch on series 1. Still watch it though.

What don't you understand? Didn't you know that before Doc Martin the ITV series there were 3 films with Martin Clunes playing Doc Martin.

Saving Grace
Doc Martin
Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie

All of which were far better than ITV's effort.

I knew about the character originating in Saving Grace (as they mentioned it in the 'making of' doc over Christmas), but never knew about the other 2.

Thats what I didn't understand. I didn't realise there had been any films, but thanks for the info, I'll look out for them because I enjoyed the tv shows.

Saving Grace has been given away free in the Sun and the Times but so far the other 2 have only been shown on Sky Movies, not even seen them on dvd.

This is the only thread I can find on this. Does nobody else watch it?

I watched all the episodes earlier this year and am now enjoying the new series. I think its fantastic. Easily the best thing on ITV.

Also, Caroline Catz is lovely!
