Queen "Live At The Bowl" Milton Keynes 1982 coming to DVD

Brian May's website has news of the US release date for the next Queen DVD release (likely the only one this year ) Traditionally we get the releases slightly before our R1 friends, so despite the rumoured November 10th release, we might get it in October.

The only other news we've had on this release is that a lot of work has been going on remastering the show, I think a DTS soundtrack is pretty much guaranteed.

I'm a little disappointed that we're not getting a 1970's show, as we have Wembley (80s), the tribute show (90s) and last year's 46664. According to the official Queen website however, we can expect a 70s show at some stage.

According to Queenconcerts.com, the typical tracklist for the Hot Space tour looked like this:

01. Flash's Theme (tape)
02. The Hero
03. Tie Your Mother Down
04. Action This Day
05. Play The Game
06. Staying Power
07. Somebody To Love
08. Get Down Make Love
09. Instrumental Inferno
10. Under Pressure
11. Love Of My Life
12. Save Me
13. Fat Bottomed Girls
14. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
15. Bohemian Rhapsody
16. Now I'm Here
17. Dragon Attack
18. Now I'm Here (reprise)
19. Another One Bites The Dust
20. Sheer Heart Attack
21. We Will Rock You
22. We Are The Champions
23. God Save The Queen

so it could be quite different from Wembley. Anybody have the actual setlist for that night?

Looking forward to this as it was the first concert I ever went to and it'll be good to see it restored to it's full glory (the TV version was crap!). Shame they didn't catch the amount of bottles being chucked at Teardrop Explodes earlier in the day

I have no idea if that's the complete setlist but it looks about the right amount of songs for a Queen gig

I'd love to see a release of the Knebworth 86 show (not that I know if it was even recorded)
just to have a document of probably the best live show I've ever seen!

to Freddy. R.I.P

Certainly looks good doesn't it?
Word from Brian May is also that the next DVD-Audio will probably be 'A Day At The Races'. SWEET! Has my favourite song of all time on it, Drowse.

I have now got this DVD, it's pretty great if a little light on the extras. The concert itself is very good and makes a nice change from the usual mid-80's setlists that most Queen fans are so used to. Very nice to hear live versions of the songs off Hot Space, they sound much more like rock songs when played live.

Possibly the best ever performance of Somebody To Love, very cool to hear Dragon Attack and The Hero, though Brighton Rock seems a bit too short (although it's very funny when Brian's guitar cuts out in the middle of it). Also the acoustic set only consists of one song here, would have been nice if they'd done a few more things like '39. Haven't had a chance to listen to the DTS track yet but judging by every other Queen release it will be excellent.

The whole band is on top form with Freddie doing some wonderfully impressive stuff and his banter with the audience between songs is always fun to hear: "I feel positively knackered!".

Love the moment in We Will Rock You when Brian knocks Freddie's cowboy hat off.

On a seperate note, 3 of the first " official" Live bootlegs are available for download now from www.queenonline.com ....... There are 30 second snippets of each track for you to judge the quality.....

Any idea if these downloads have tonnes of annoying restrictions on them? I want to be able to do what I want with a track I download personally.

Well, since these "official bootlegs" are just poor quality audience recordings anyway (in MP3 format) which you can get free from so many places, I wouldn't bother with them at all. I had high hopes for this project, but it's a real let down. I seriously expected them to be more along the lines of Pearl Jam's Official Bootlegs, but they're not even sourced from the gig soundboards!

My CD of Live is on it's way and I expect the DVD to be despatched shortly.

I agree that this is the BEST version of Somebody ever recorded. Simply sublime.
