Norah Jones - Little Broken Hearts

New album out today. Another departure in sound, something of a continuation from the Ryan Adams-esque singer/songerwriter sound she did on The Fall (my favourite album of hers by a long shot), but this is full-on dark indie pop. First impressions very good, and my God I can just drown in her heavenly voice.

Thanks for the reminder, LHG. Somehow I had completely forgotten about this. Like you, I really liked The Fall, and have been curious to see what her direction will be next. Streaming now from Spotify.

'Miriam' is an amazing song. Very creepy, unusual message (!), but got stuck in my head.

Excellent album, will take some beating this year imo. Agree about Miriam, sounds a lot like something from Ryan Adams's Love is Hell.

Love the video for 'Miriam', just as creepy as the song.

Love this album, listened to it on the Virgin entertainment system when flying on Sunday.

Yeah, her sound went particularly in that direction on her last album where she collaborated with him. I much prefer it to her jazzy early stuff.

New album announced, 'Day Breaks' out October 7th.
A return to her old jazzy-blues sound, which honestly I feel is a bit of a shame. I loved her more indie direction.

Surprise new single release from Norah. Not jazzy, quite moody/indie. I like it.
I guess there's a new album in the works?

New album 'Begin Again' out today. It's a collection of the singles she's released over the past year, a nice range of styles from light electronica to moody ambient to jazzy folk. I love it, good to see her move away from her "obvious" sound again.
