Have you run raw maintenance to free up space?

Is there an option for that, or do you mean manually deleting programs that I no longer use?

Its an add-on that clears cache, deletes thumbnails which is the main culprit I think. If you get a chance check youtube explains it a lot better then I ever could.

I just set up our fire tv stick on a second telly. Not used it a while. Presumably the fire hd is a lot nippier? Kodi on the stick is much stickier than on my nvidia shield tv. There are way more apps on Amazn's players though, Android Tv has a lot of catching up to do

Those who have the latest version of the Fire...is there much 4K content available? I'm wondering whether its worth replacing my original Fire TV.

Not a lot, a few bits on amazon prime and about 10 movies that you can buy/rent and of course you get the 4k content in netflix if you're a subscriber, it handles that well...but I wouldn't say there's a huge amount on there, no.

Was really happy to see kodi appear in my recently used apps all of sudden without prompting though...must have been a software update to allow side loaded apps into the list

Yes, it was a recent update, apparently it now adds sideloaded apps to the recent. Makes it much better than having to dig through the settings to access them, and putting Kodi on the front screen makes it much more desirable as a Kodi player.

Cheers, am toying with the idea of upgrading my Netflix membership to the 4K level, likewise not sure how much material there is in Netflix.

When we could easily flit around the regions, there was a fair bit but now it's not so easy, it's again limited. Although all the self made netflix stuff is 4k, stuff like daredevil, jessica jones, house of cards etc.

I just had a survey through from Amazon asking about sideloading and running kodi on the Fire TV. It would be nice if they start taking that stuff seriously, or at least let you download kodi from the app store.

Could be that they'd be seen to be supporting piracy by the industry? I know Kodi itself promotes itself as being against piracy, but let's face it, there can't be many people out there who use Kodi for anything other than watching illegally obtained TV and movie and listening to music!

There is a Kodi fork (MrMC) without python support (which effectively removes all add-on support) which is in the official Amazon store (and not free!), should anyone want to officially use Kodi as a media player on the Fire TV.

I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that when plaything a video from Amazon Instant I get the DD+ light on my amp but the sound format is Dolby Pro Logic 2. Seems to be an issue with just Amazon as it works fine with the Netflix app. Anyone else having this issue?

My dad has been on the phone saying his firestick has "lost" Kodi, doesn't auto boot & is no longer available in the "My programs" menu... Any thoughts on how to fix, bearing in mind am trying to do so remotely over the phone?
