Single Location Movies

I'm after movies that were set in a single location. Smaller locations more claustrophobic movies preferred like Phone Booth, 12 Angry Men, Panic Room but also larger locations like Dawn of the Dead

Any you can recommend?

Cheers

I thought Tape was pretty good.
The remake of When a stranger calls was effective as well (it has more than one location in the set-up but the vast majority of the film takes place in one house).

Tape was good I agree.

12 Angry Men is another excellent film.

Surely Dawn takes place in loads of locations though Bolchie? I can count at least 5. How strict are you being?

How about The Shining?

Not seen Dawn for years and con only remember the Mall as the main location, although there is roof and car park action they are still within the vicinity of the Mall.

Shining is a good one, forgot about that. Tape looks good

Dawn starts in the tv station, takes in an appartment block, harbour, helicopter place (lol) among others before hitting the mall, so strike that one off the list young man!

Does Identity count because
?

Would Reservoir Dogs count since the majority of it takes place in the warehouse with only the flashbacks set in different locations?

How about The Thing? Ok, they do take an excursion over to the Norwegian base but apart from that it's all one location.

Wasn't Hitchcock's Lifeboat set almost entirely in a... lifeboat?

Saw (the first one)? Well most of it anyway.

Festen / The Celebration (whole film/play is basically a dinner party). I would imagine that several Dogme films may qualify, but I don't think I have seen any others.

High Society; different rooms, but all the same house. Again I would imagine there are lots of examples if you look at stage plays that have subsequently become movies, as many stage plays will have been written to minimise the stage settings required.

Rear Window? Two rooms involved if I remember rightly, but both in the same building, and of course the garden in between. I've got vague memories that you might see the bad guy walking along the street at one point though.

2001, once you get past the first couple of reels and into the main story, all on the same spaceship? OK that one might be stretching the "single location" requirement a bit.

OK, continuing the spaceship theme, Alien? That's all on the one spaceship and it's shuttle if I remember rightly?

Interesting thread.

Another vote for Cube, Tape and Rear Window.

Rope is another good one.

Sleuth - not seen the remake but doesn't the original all take place in the house?

Platoon - in the ****

Dark Star - a space ship

The Fantastic Voyage - within the guy's body (most of the film)

A Chorus Line - doesn't it all take place within the theatre? (I could be wrong on this one)

Not really - the Quick-Stop and the video store arguably aren't the same location (if you're being picky), but they go to the funeral parlour anyway.
