Volume 2 arrived today from Pacific. No slipcase for the Falcon, of course - so a partially crushed outer box . I just ditched the box and filed the titles alphabetically so I'm not going to get crazy - still somebody, somewhere has loused up.
Anyway, from a quick check the films look great (which is what really matters when you get right down to it).
Across the Pacific has been reported to be a little softer. Maybe, but my tired old eyes don't see a whole lot wrong with it.

Bogart fans might like to check Barrie Maxwell's latest Bits column, where he takes stock of Bogie on DVD here.

I emailed WB US about the missing 'Falcon' slipcase last week, and just got this reply:
Quote:
Dear David - thank you for your email. Please note that we are looking into this issue, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Kind regards,

As noted on the previous page, it was originally due October; still no news of extras, but it is only a two-discer.

According to the backcover of the German/Swiss Edition the R2 Special Edition doesn't contain the bonus movies from 1931 and 1936 and the three radio broadcasts. Everything else from the R1 Edition is there.

Not a new release by any means, but the Beaver has just done a review of the R2 of Sahara.
