That's exactly what it is. And I'll be playing it with that switched off.
You are buying the original game here basically (but able to run on a modern system)

It's Ł18 for the digital download. Twice that for the physical.

A lot for an old game but it's one of my all time faves!

Oh, are you guys talking about the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter? Is that the official charger? I don't own thw Switch myself so I'm a total luddite with this.

That might be his best option then, but I guess it depends on whether the lead will be long enough for him to play it in bed (he won't have much mobility). My thinking with the USB plug charger was that we could then buy a long USB lead if that's required.

Never had the misfortune to be hospitalised but when visiting people there seem to be plugs in a lot of convinant places. Plus even if another USBC charger can't charge the battery and play it will still power the device.

Awesome, thanks. I'm not sure what mains-access he'll have really because it depends on the ward he's on (had an accident, well he was run over, in Spain and finally been transferred home today), but on a fair number of wards of my local hospital the outlets are are behind the beds and a 1.5m lead, say, may not be up to the task.

I bought an charger that charges faster than the switch drains. Didn't want to spend as much as the official one so did a lot of research, and I think 3A plus is what you need

Fantastic guys, thanks. I'm sure I can sort something out for him from amongst these suggestions!

Flashback and its prequel, Another World, are both excellent old school games.

Anyone played the octopath traveller demo?

I chose theif and by God is it slow. Why can't I speed up the dialogue...

I am absolutely not sold on this mostly due to that

I played the first demo months ago and loved it. Bought the two prequels on the 3DS off the back of it.

There are prequels??
I've got to a bit of fighting now, so far so jrpg... Just bloomin slow to get through the dialogue. They must assume everyone reads at a child's pace

Bravely Default and Bravely Second. I don't *think* it's related story wise. Just the same gameplay mechanics.

The old demo only had a couple of characters. I played as the dancer and it was surprisingly adult for such a game. Makes a bit of a change from Zelda!

I think maybe I just picked the wrong character perhaps. Bit standard. Even stealing an item is frustrating as it's multiple presses then the same dialogue box after each time... Just seems slooow to do anything

I'm normally quite boring in my rpg characters choices. Warrior historically so I can use all the heavy gear. Though I have lately branched out into the lightly armoured fast attack classes such as assassins/thieves.

I can't remember what the other character choices were in last years demo but exotic dancer was an unusual option so I thought I may as well give it a go in the demo!

I've downloaded the demo but not played it. It looks nice but not sure I can tolerate random battle encounters anymore. Feels like something left over from a bygone era.

I heard the encounter rate can adjusted in Brave Default. What about Octopath?

Playground mode added to Fortnite which is just as it sounds, a place to practice the game.

It's typical review fodder tho isn't it. Qwirky retro fraphics, JRPG, indie feel (albeit big publisher)

I didn't get on with it at all sadly

I loved my time with the demo so will definitely pick it up...but I'm going to leave it til Xmas as it's perfect for the family to buy me (whereas they can't with Xbox/PS4 as I buy digital on those).

Anyone playing Mario Tennis Aces.

I'm at the third boss and close to flinging the switch out the window - he has an attack that I'm almost positive can't be avoided (ice blocks) yet years of gaming have taught me that everything should be avoidable.

I keep coming back to it even though it's driving me up the wall!!!
