I never looked forward to this match under Fergie, but since he's left I look forward to it more, they used to be up for this match much more than we were for some reason.

Every game this weekend has been high-scoring, high-entertainment. Everton just slaughtered City. This is a great opportunity for us to play well and win well. I know it won't be easy and Liverpool have been playing really good stuff until the last few weeks, but I really hope we come out to play a positive attacking game and go for the win.

Pogba DICKHEAD. Misses a sitter & gives away a stupid penalty. At his wages his play should be a thousand times batter than that. IDIOT.

Jose spent most of the week telling the fans to turn up. Did he tell the team the same?

edit: Also, I watched all the #Pogba new haircut nonsense on Twitter yesterday and a little bit of me died inside because I feared it would go like it has done. I don't mind Ibra / Ronaldo / Messi / Beckham being cocky ************: they've earned it. But the cockiness should come AFTER the medals. He's been good in recent weeks, but today he's been a yard short all match. Fingers crossed half time will shake things up because we're just behind them at everything so far.

wow! a yellow & should have been a straight red to the Liverpool player. The ref & linesman could not have helped Liverpool more.

Lovren got booked in the first half for a good tackle and Rooney got nothing for a lot worse, but you keep your blinkers on

I don't think the Rooney tackle was as awful as they made it in commentary, at least it was an honest attempt to get the ball (from both). Think the ref did a decent job, actually.

The United of last week would have beaten the Liverpool of last week, but we both stepped up. I think with five more minutes we would have nabbed it, but we left it so late to get going, Fellaini and Rooney both made a bit of a difference.

When Gary Neville accuses a United player of committing a dirty tackle then you know it was a dirty tackle.

Oliver was awful IMHO ... as already stated, Lovren getting booked for nothing, Rooney not getting booked, Liverpool not getting a freekick for the blatant foul from Pogba on Henderson, allowing the offside United equaliser, etc, etc. No wonder, a United fan thinks the ref was OK

Adam if you want tackles like that to be ruled out, you need to start with basketball. It was clumsy but it was nothing like a Rojo special.

Take your point - you earned it - and it is a happy moment of reflection before you continue your downward spiral

Yeah, Neville being negative about something concerning United on commentary is a completely rare occurrence

LOL - if Lovren gets booked for a perfectly fair tackle where he clearly wins the ball, Rooney should be getting at least a yellow for studs into the ankle tackle where he gets nowhere near the ball.

The problem is that players are now getting penalised for getting to the ball first. If the ref thinks Lovran deserves a booking, but Rooney doesn't then he's incompetent imo.
Personally I didn't think you would ever score and I thought there was a distinct lack of quality on show. Pogba was so poor and gifted us the Penalty, it's amazing how he didn't get subbed off

I'm never going to argue against someone who says that refereeing is inconsistent in the Premier League - I'm all over this thread with similar quotes and I get it when it works against you. I just wish that the consistency meant that the Rooney 'tackle' was seen as such - an honest but not very good attempt to win the ball and the others, including at least three Rojo tackles this season, were punished for being rubbish AND dangerous.

Twenty years ago, in a European match, we used to all complain how the 'cunning continentals' bought a refereee with a cheeky overreaction and now we're all moaning that the same decisions aren't instant red cards. Great tackles - the only thing I was ever any good at at footy - are getting punished each week now because the referees are whistle happy.

I know it was ever thus, because I've read that back and I sound like my Dad!

Should really have won that. Liverpool run around a lot, but don't have great quality. Shame we didn't put one of the early chances away. De Gea was never tested, just a shame to have given away such a silly pen.
