LOL. You keep telling yourself that

Pains me to admit it but ... Rashford played a blinder on the left on Saturday so why would you switch him to the right last night ??

DdG looked very 'am I bothered?' at the end.

Watching the post-match on BT Sport you would think the Queen had died or something

I guess DdG knew that they'd get dumped out at some point, so might as well be now as next match. I also guess he'll be gone in the summer and can use this as a reason.

You think he'd get in the City side? For who, Aguero? Jesus? Silva?

Scholes and Ferdinand were on the panel, weren't they?

You constantly trot out this revisionism. Yesterday was appalling, a match where we had no fight or desire to win, and was 100% down to Jose, but no it’s not worse than David Moyes!!! Get a grip.

Exactly, no real danger of not qualifying for the CL, but no you're not at present the best in Europe. Bit of perspective is needed. I'm fairly sure he said that anyone would be better than Moyes and anyone better than LVG.

Mourinho is useless. I want a team that fights, that is attacking & entertaining, so be it if we lose some playing that way. Mostly we will win & enjoy the matches. I rarely enjoy watching Manchester United nowadays, & it's not just me. Just look over all the forums & the radio. He will drag us down. He was a great manager, for what he did. I have said this before, but I have Spanish friends who support Real Madrid & they told me that they wanted rid of Mourinho. At that time he was doing well. Now I see first hand what they meant.

That's not what you want though is it, a sort of Newcastle or a Blackpool.

But I agree with you on him, he seems to be such a toxic figure, especially when they ain't doing well. I was shocked he was recently given a new contract, when it was clear he was in his "sack me and pay me off" mood.

That being said, and we've said it before, who else is out there to manage? You can only do the "I need £500m to rebuild this team" so often or you'll be bancrupt

I'm not sure that there is that much rebuilding required. Sure, it's probably a couple of players shy, but here's a very good team in there somewhere, it's just a question of style and motivation.

Hmmm, wish he'd have picked that team last night then It truly was the strangest of matches last night...zero desire, terrible attitude, a complete lack of teamwork. There surely has to be some repercussions if only for the £millions we've now lost out on!

...Rashford on the right? ...Maureen should be sacked for that alone

I can't decide if its José or the players, or both.

There's little wrong with the formation or personnel, just no urgency or desire. It was the same under LVG in many ways.

The sum of the parts is less than the whole at the moment. Players clearly have to take some blame, and therein lies a lot of the problem, if you change manager then the same problems persist.

I don’t quite understand why there is a lack of urgency, but we do lack leaders on the pitch - only Bailly and Lukaku looked like they could be arsed last night. What I would give for a Roy Keane to shake them up, but those types of player are few and far between anymore.

I can't think of a single one, certainly not one that is likely to move. I'm not even sure a Keane-style 'enforcer' would work any more. Do players like Pogba really respond to a **********? Does the outside criticism even soak in to the players, or are they too protected? I do wonder. They're treated like they've made it the moment they arrive at the club. Where else is there for them to go?

No idea what the answer is, as has been mentioned above, this seems to have been the problem since Fergie left and if a winner like Mourinho can't fix it, then I'm not sure anyone can.

I think the problem was there before Fergie left.

I don't think Keane would work in this day and age, the players really would refuse to play and they'd quickly be shifted on

There are quite a few who need to be shifted on quickly, Pogba being at the top of my list! He's been here long enough now to show he just isn't good enough for the Premier league...capable of some really great passes but just too slow and wasteful and far, far too full of unwarranted arrogance. If we could get decent money for him from Real then we should ditch him now!

...we lose on Saturday and Maureen's position will become very shaky no matter how long his contract is for...this club survives on trophies, we're not Spurs.

It's been a rotten week and I'm not sure the weekend is going to be any better, but I did enjoy this speech from Jose.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43429456

He's an arrogant sod, but he's got a point. Notice he didn't name drop Pogba either

Jose needs to win tonight, and we could do with a good performance.

Well, we're ahead but we're seriously unimpressive...there's something wrong with this team!

You are so right. We play like a division one team. Can't pass or control the ball.

So, Maureen's finally had a pop at his players...'lack of personality, lack of quality, lack of desire'...maybe he's finally seeing what we've been seeing pretty much all season! Matic and McTominay were the only two he singled out as acceptable United players...Shaw is pretty much history.

Well, we're in the last four. Does anyone know if the Spurs semi will be played at a neutral ground, seems hardly fair to let them play at their home ground?!
