MP3 player for older person help needed

I have an elderly relative that listens to books on CD NOT using headphones but via a radio/cd player. It is becoming more difficult to source these so I've been converting .mp3 to .wav with 5 minute sections and putting them on CD so she can listen.

Does anyone know of a simple CD player ( radio type thing) that plays mp3 with a display so she can easily go back to a track?

e.g. she starts listening at track 45 and falls asleep she wants to be able to jump to track 50 and move forward a track at a time but not peering at a tiny walkman display but a full sized radio display.

sorry if i'm not explaining too well - she has arthritis in her hands and can't see too well so needs big display and buttons not touch screen

Have you considered something like an Amazon Echo with an Audible subsrciption? No screen at all then, they can just speak to it. Obviously they'd need an internet connection but they aren't any more expensive than just having a phone.

What about a Kindle Fire? The 7" models were on sale the other week for Ł29.95, chances are they'll drop again for the January sales.

Audible is installed by default. You also can shove in a storage card for plenty of mp3 rips.

Speakers aren't great but you can either bluetooth or manually plug it into separate speakers or link it to an echo as Stephen suggests.

I;m guessing the cost might be an issue with Audible, I'd guess they are getting the CDs for free from the library or something.

Have you considered looking if the RNIB has anything suitable?

Audible with an Alexa sub would work pretty well potentially. Or maybe a big blue tooth remote or something?

Or would their TV play mp3s from a USB stick?

thanks for the suggestions - all good in their way but the person concerned is rather set in their ways which as they are nearly 80 is fair enough. Yes it's been CDs from the library mostly and a lot of audiobooks I have on mp3 which I've been converting but as their taste for bedtime listening is mostly grisly murders and mine is mostly sci-fi I'm running out of stuff.

The library are switching to the mp3players with the book already installed.

Nearest thing I've found so far is https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4367495 which will play normal CDs and mp3 on CD.

I'll look at audible and see if I can figure out how to put an audible book onto a CD they can use
