Last time they had an offer like this my subscription was due to expire in a couple of weeks so I emailed them and they agreed to refund the difference when it renewed so it's worth trying if you want it at this price.

If you're on a free trial, is there anything stopping you from opening a new account to get the discounted offer?

Definitely an option I suppose though may need new email? or could get the wife to sign up. Just had online chat with CS and they say as Free trial is an offer in itself I can't take up new offer . So I guess it means if anyone just happens to be ending their year sub today they couldn't take it up either?

Amazon CS usually good but on this occasion they don't seem to want to budge. There is no guarantee i will take up year after free trial yet they could lock me in with this offer.

You get some shameless people who get free prime all year round by opening dummy accounts 12 times a year. Could you be arsed?

I think Ive dropped a right rick here.

Using the xbox app I managed to click a sign up box which I presumed would enable me to enter my details. Worryingly it just automatically says welcome to prime for £79 a year.

Does this mean Ive unwittingly created another account using my xbox gamertag?

Who will I have to contact to cancel it?

Well after the lady on the live chat said no go for me, I emailed CS also, woke up this morning to reply saying they will refund me 20 quid if I continue after free trial, sorry doesn't help the forums link but I did try.

I've been on Prime for about 8 months now but I emailed CS to ask if I could take advantage of the offer to advance pay for the next year's subscription. They said no, but that instead they'd refund me £20 towards my current subscription

I followed Pete's lead and sent them an email asking if I could pay in advance for my renewal to take advantage of the offer.

First off, I got an email saying I'd get it automatically when I renewed on 9th December, as it would just take the best rate available. I replied asking if they were sure, seeing as the offer ended tomorrow.

Just got another email saying no, they were wrong, that wouldn't happen and the offer is only for new customers. However, as I'm their bestest customer ever, and just this one time because I'm a jolly good egg, they'll give me a £20 credit when I renew.

Cheers Pete!

Exactly what they told me. Strange though that I told a friend and he got told no chance!

I can see here in your account that you are already a prime member, one moment please as I checked further in my resources regarding with your concern.
Me: Thank you. Your English is very good. Where are you from?
Cherryl: You're welcome. I'm from Philippines.
Me: I used to work with a girl from the Philppines. Very nice girl.
Cherryl: Great. Thank you so much for that, Stacy.

I'd cancelled Prime a year ago, but signed up for a month just last week to get the festive shopping done, and didn't qualify for this offer. The mail I got told me new members only, so no go, but 'we value your custom'. I thought of giving LordoftheFlirt's technique a go, but simply pointed out they obviously didn't value my custom enough.

That did the trick - just signed up.

My renewal isn't due until January. I tried contacting them through chat and email and they didn't want to know. I replied to say I had friends who had received a £20 refund for renewing and they asked me to email them at renewal time and they'll provide the refund. If you don't ask, you don't get!
