Music Streamer

I've been reading through various threads and I haven't found anything really that totally fits the bill (maybe thats just the case)

Focus will be on it being a music jukebox rather than video streaming

It can be wither wireless of Wired
Andorid control app (would be really useful)
Connectable to TV
User friendly interface

Music will be stored on My book world edition (twonky)

Budget would be up to about £150

Most of the chat seems to focus on video so I was just wondering what you guys current suggestions are.

(also on a side note is there software you can put on a laptop with an android app that could let you control music at the amp?

Squeezebox/Logitech Media Server is the best for this, I think.

I have a Joggler touch screen device running SqueezePlayOS as both the client and the server. It connects via an NFS share to my NAS. I use it for both streaming my own catalogue, and for Spotify (with a premium account).

I could run the server on the NAS, but that wouldn't support Spotify.

There is a controller app that runs on my iPhone/iPad which talks to the server to control what plays.

If you don't mind a bit of fiddling you could do it with a Raspberry Pi and use your TV as the display device (if you even need a display). You may want to also get an external sound card if you get a Raspberry Pi, as the audio output is a bit basic.

When I move house shortly I want to use my Joggler as a music streamer - is Squeezebox the best one then?

I can't see any reason to use anything else. It does have the whole server/client thing, which if you are used to just playing things off a share might be a pain, but other than that it is spot on.

Someone has done most of the donkey work already, too - http://birdslikewires.co.uk/articles/squeezeplay-os

Yes it does. It isn't installed on the OS by default, but you can install it via the Squeezeplay interface. You would then need to add the 'Triode' Spotify Plugin via the Logitech Media Server (aka Squeezebox) web interface, which you connect to by going to http://[ip of your Joggler]:9000 once the server is installed.

Or you can SSH in and do it all from the command line, but not much point unless you absolutely have to now it is built into the interface.

I've just installed XBMC on my Joggler!
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=138842
Seems to work like a charm, although tragically my Joggler touchscreen seems to have stopped working. Testing out the remote app on the iPhone and that seems to do the job. Now just have to get the Joggler talking to remote libraries on the network.
