Cool Angie Tribeca (The Return of Naked Gun?)

New US Comedy that started at the weekend from Steve Carrell & his wife.

It's clearly inspired by the Naked Gun/Police Squad movies/shows & they released the entire ten episode first season with the second season beginning next week on a one-a-week basis.

I blasted through the first five episodes yesterday & it's a mixed bag of one good gag for every two/three ones that will make you groan.

The beautiful Rashida Jones is the lead & her alone will keep me tuned in.

Yes, same here & the show knows how to exploit this as in the episodes I've watched so far, she's been working out naked & been undercover as a naked model & a prostitute

...although, in true Naked Gun fashion, the stunt/naked doubles are deliberately obvious.

Thanks Tony watched a couple and they did make chuckle.

Very Silly but enjoyable and Funny.

If you loved Police squad, Naked Gun, Airplane and Top Secret like myself you will enjoy this show.

Watched an episode of this last night and it reminded me of the BBC 3 show Top Coppers... I tired of Top Coppers pretty quickly, and I can see this heading the same way.

If you like this though, you'll probably like Top Coppers.

I don't as a rule like American comedy but am a big fan of likes of police squad / naked gun / airplane etc as always find it more British / Monty Python / silly in style so I kept at this

Managed about ten minutes

Hated it. Whilst there where a couple of things that made me laugh there was too much that didn't around it. Did not like the women either so switched off

I've just started watching A Touch Of Cloth on NowTV (Sky1) which is maybe a bit more 'adult' in content but similar to this.

I've really got an urge to watch Top Secret again now though.

Same, i managed two episodes, the 1st one and then i jumped to the 5th, 1st one was terrible and while the 5th one was a bit better i realised that the whole thing is more suited to movies rather the a TV series, the writing and jokes are just not strong enough and i know i'll be bored of it quickly.

And as much as i hate to say it, Rashida Jones is aging like milk, she's still passable now but her looks are fading pretty damn quick after P&R!

If this was a Steve Carell thing, it's a shame he didn't get the rights to make a Get Smart TV series and star in it, (Just continue from the movie) i think it would have worked better

Have to admit my enthusiasm is fading fast with the show. I've been cringing more than smiling from episode six onwards. They even had an episode set on a plane (ep.8) which just made me want to watch Airplane again rather than squirm watching this!

Thankfully Alfred Molina as Dr Edelweiss still makes me grin with his one scene-per-episode.

I was about to post something similar.

I blasted through 4 or 5 episodes but now I'm struggling a bit.

Couldn't even make it through the first episode. Cringe-worthy stuff (and I'm a huge Naked Gun/Police Squad fan).

Watched a few. A couple of the dog cop jokes made me **** myself.. but the rest is okay. I'd rather watch this than the like of 'The Flash' though. Random show to pit this against, but I'm really disliking that at the moment. Okay!

Same love Naked Gun and lasted around 10 minutes and turned it off. It's not great at all, which is such a shame.

Thanks for the heads up. Most of the jokes do feel somewhat "recycled" but I'm enjoying it anyway

The only good thing about this for me is that I stumbled on "wizards of aus" whilst on its IMDb page

Now that genuinely made me laugh out loud more than once in first episode
Sort of naked gun meets the office in Mordor
