Lost S06E03 "What Kate Does" *Spoilers*

"You're not a zombie are you?"

Got to feel sorry for poor Sawyer

Hopeless acting again from Evangeline Lilly and Emilie De Ravin . Couldn't the latter have found time to go to stage school once or twice while she was free last year?

"Claiming" is the new big thing obviously.

Didn't like how Dogan and Lennon go on about "there's no time to explain" but then have a massive fight with Jack anyway, tend to a few bonsai, make a cup of tea etc . There's never any time to explain anything on Lost it seems! Don't really understand why, if they think Sayid has been "claimed", they haven't thrown him the hell out of the temple already.

Was it just me or is Evangeline Lilly aging really badly (and not to suit the plot either). She looks a lot older now than she did in series 1. Not as bad as Walt, but definitely older. I guess that is a problem for any series that runs six years but is supposedly all set in a relatively short time frame (Lost time-warping aside).

Oh and good to see creepy Ethan back. Note Ethan Goodspeed not Ethan Rom now. . Obviously we already knew he was Goodspeed but interesting that he said it now, so why did he call himself Ethan Rom in his island incarnation.

I wonder if Ben got the idea for his glasses from Lennon!

The common consensus now seems to be that it's not an alternate timeline. At the end of the series they find a way to change the past and they're telling the story of happens when they change it along side the build up to the change.

Was an okay-> dull episode. Shame they had to stall for time with the "we can't tell you" crap at this stage. Claire is back but her disappearance seems to have been reduced in significance at the same time.

The whole "Sayed is some one else" business last week looks like it was just Naveen Andrews' fake accent quivering Just goes to show how much we expect from the show really. We already knew that people who get healed "come back different"... but of course the water was a different colour and it didn't work exactly as before so maybe Sayed hasn't been claimed like the others (so to speak).

Nice to see Mac back though, some funny stuff with his "you knocked me out!" and so on.

So are we to assume that Christian and Yemi aren't actually Smokey, but were claimed by him in some way? Would explain why their bodies were missing yet Locke's wasn't.

Thoroughly enjoyed the episode myself. Nothing spectacular, but solid stuff. Each episode flies by though.

Hmmmm

Shame they couldn't keep the pace and excitement of the 01/2 but this seemed to slow in places. Infact it looked to me they were short and ended up filling in with pointless shots of Kate filling up her flask and moping after Sawyer.

What is it with Kate that even after 3 years as soon as Jack and sawyer are present she suddenly can't pick either of them or even better live her own life. FFS Sawyer is grieving after the death of Juliette, she died in his arms 24 hours ago. Leave the man alone.

I think that was about Sawyer making the choice for her, he told her he was going to marry Juliet and then said go back to the temple, to get lost.. as it were.

After the comment about Sayed being unworthy for resurrection I thought that when Sawyer left he was going to dig her up and bring her to the fountain.

But she cried after Sawyer threw the ring into the sea. I don't think she was sharing Sawyers pain or grieving after Juliette, who after all she barely knew for a couple of weeks. No my take on that scene was she was crying for cos she was hurt by Sawyers indifference to her.

Yeah that's what I meant. I don't think she was crying for him at all.... He told her to get lost, that's what upset her. She had already tried Jack out and gave him the boot because he became some one different. So she's on her own... for now at least. She will hook up with some one by the end. We can but hope it's the most emotionally stable person on the island. Hurley.

From 'Midnight Cowboy' to Ethan; from a murderer driving around in a bright yellow taxi to chilling out in a hospital and from an implausible handcuff removal to some of the least tense, suspenseful, exciting scenes I've seen in some time (the escape from the airport and the cops visit at the hospital) the alternate timeline stuff was pretty crap this week wasn't it?
All for the point so far of: Hurley was unlucky. Now he's lucky! Claire adopted her baby. Now she's going to keep it! (I know there's more to it, like with Desmond, but nothing that's been explicitly presented as of yet)
The fact she started delivery preparations on the doorstep of the prospective mother was beyond ridiculous

The on-island stuff wasn't bad though, the answer to Claire's mysterious disappearance being that she was possessed by smokey is a little underwhelming but as always I'm looking forward to how it all plays out. I assume it means the 'real' Claire is lying dead somewhere though which is a little sad

I do think at this point I could safely bow out until nearer the seasons end then catch up in quick succession. I might give that a try......

She's not lying anywhere. She came back to life like Sayid did, having been killed when the commandos blew up her house in the barracks.

Didn't Sawyer find her immediately after that with the baby? I thought she went missing when they were walking back to the beach..

Jeez, that was tedious.

And all we learned was that.......erm.......I'm struggling. Oh, that Sawyer was going to propose. Yeah. Great.

Yes that's correct she just disappeared into the jungle and was next seen all happy in the cabin with Christian.

As for Kate going on the run in a bright yellow taxi it's not so daft, it's going to attract very little attention amongst lots of other bright yellow taxis, or parked outside a hospital etc, and cops will soon tire of checking the licence plate of ever taxi they see. Presumably it is how the cops eventually knew she had brought Kate to the hospital though so it was sort-of covered.

I would quite like to know which branch of Island H Samuel he went to to get Juliet's engagement ring though. It should have been in a little back and white Dharma Initiative Standard Engagement Ring box

Surprised no-one's mentioned the biggest reveal this episode, when Claire blurted out "Aaron" for the baby's name, which further reinforces that the flash-what-could-have-beens, are actually flashforwards & they are subconsciously aware of what happened to them before .... or maybe i'm just trying to find something interesting about this episode, which somehow whizzed along despite not really going anywhere.
