50 Cent - Blood on the Sand (Multi.)

So Fiddy takes on the Taliban? Never played Bulletproof but this looks like it could be....bad, probably very bad.

Definitely fits into the "So-bad-it's-great" category. Visually looks impressive. Whoever thought of the game storyline deserves a raise!

The clips look hilarious. Fiddy has some big action hero fantasies.

The neck break was well funny though.

When they talked about this on 1UP Yours a week or two ago it sounded hilariously bad.

This might be a useful idiot magnet for 'live' though. If they're all in once place, its easier to avoid them.

Apparently it's not set in the middle east

Quote:
Julian Widdows, game director on 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, has dismissed suggestions the title is set in the Middle East.

Speaking at last week's Sierra showcase event Widdows said, "It's an everyman's war zone. It's a pastiche of war zones, for want of a better way of describing it.
So could there be a twist where 50 Cent took the pimped out G-unit rocket for a spin, got sucked into a black hole and landed on some alien planet not that dissimilar to our own?! This could be one of the greatest stories ever told.

Played it briefly a couple of days ago, certainly more fun than I was expecting and the sheer daft level of swearing is actually big and clever.

Being the daft ******** that I am and having a bit of the ol paypal lying around I thought I'd buy this and give it a go. Hasn't arrived yet but it looks wonderfully daft, looking forward to trying it out. You just know Swordfish are taking the **** and have injected quite a bit humour into it. If anyone else is crazy enough to buy it let me know and we can try co-op

Some Reviews:

IGN 7.6

Quote:
Swordfish Studios has taken a knowing and often wry eye to the swagger of the 50 Cent juggernaut, and in the process created a near-perfect popcorn game. Its gunplay is solid and backed up by a plethora of neat ideas, its co-op is strong and there's an undercurrent of savvy humour that helps to negate the heavy posturing and more dubious elements of the paper thin plot. Ultimately, the pattern of play becomes too familiar too quickly, but while it lasts Blood on the Sand is a smile-inducing blast.

Eurogamer 7/10

So Epic can sleep easily, but on the whole 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand more than makes up for the wretched Bulletproof. Obviously us hacks try to avoid preconceptions when we approach any game, but after the first one hung the bar so low - and given 50's shilling for Reebok, Glacéau, Right Guard and others - it's fair to say nobody expected much from this. Like Activision, for example, who couldn't be bothered to release it after swallowing original publisher Vivendi last year. More fool them, because while this is never amazing, it's a competent, enjoyable third-person cover shooter with a sense of humour.

CVG 7/10

It's just balls-out shooting from start to finish, with 50 Cent tunes to bop along to as you go. It's not too tough and not overly complicated. You just have fun with guns, and that's all there is to it.

X360 Magazine 7/10

Light, silly and undemanding but also surprisingly fun, Blood On The Sand will never compete with the big boys of the shooting genre but it’ll keep you amused more than you may think. It’s worth a look.

Definitely looks like mindless fun & i'll be getting it once it hits the bargain bins. Certainly not a full-price purchase though!

Ohhh, this sounds like a bargain purchase. Plus I like his music, even if he is a bit of a knob jockey

I got 'Saints Row 2' for all my gangstering needs but I might as well add this to my rentals.

It's quality. You can well imagine it hangin about with R2-D2. And when the fan is switched on it looks like it's scanning for life-forms like R2-D2 does on the ice world of Hoth when Luke Skywalker goes missing. Quality in moton. The other day it disappeared. I said, "where's the bag-l gone? have the jawas come to pick it up in the sandcrawler?" to which one of the girls in the office replied, "No, Les the porter!" —Captainchode
