Saw the Inspiral Carpets in Hebden Bridge last night at the Trades Club.
Outstanding performance, well worth catching while they're on tour.

Best band ever. How good were they? Loved Ricochet and Everythings Ruined.

Having been to Hop Farm last weekend, I'm off to se The Boss this weekend. Very excited about John Fogerty too!

And I might have to go see Paul Simon on Sunday if I can't get rid of the ticket.

Yeah, they were great. Nice to hear a good selection from the first two albums too.
Bit odd when Danny DeVito hung around in the background during the encore taking pictures of his feet

Optimus Alive in Lisbon this week, Stone Roses, The Cure and Radiohead headline. Ticket and flight cheaper than buying a ticket for V!

There are far too many people trying to run this kind of festival who obviously don't have the necessary skills to do so effectively
Only had a day ticket for the Saturday. Got an email on Saturday morning saying the site was cancelled and not to turn up so I went to Xoyo instead (where some of the acts due to play Bloc were playing). Finished the night off at Fabric.

Complete shambles from what i've read and heard. Now Bloc has gone into administration so I phoned my bank and got a charge-back which they've agreed to.

ATP are rumoured to have gone into administration as well.

To be fair, Tulisa and Olly Murs are on the list as I have to look after my 8yr old daughter who wants to see them

Tigs they've been giving loads away this week and you can get them for £20 still here - TBH I'm only going to support the BSC boys.

I really expected them to forfeit today's show to save the ground for Sat/Sun but it's going ahead.

Poster on AN Other forum says they've only sold 15,000 tickets (out of 50,000?) so they were probably praying for rain.

15,000 seems pretty damn good for Soundgarden. No way they were ever going to get near the 50k mark

There does seem to be semm reallity checks needed for a lot of bands/prmoters who seem to think that every popular band from the best will automatically come back and sell out gigs that are equal to or even bigger than the ones they played in their prime.

The perfect example is the ludicrous optimistic arena tour for The Cult, Killing Joke & The Mission. Shock, horror, they are now on at theatre sized venues and still not sold out.

I saw Soundgarden last night (and paid full price grrrr) and they were excellent, but I don't even remember them playing arenas when they were in their prime in this country, always thought Hyde Park was hugely optimistic. Really the gig should have been at Wembley Arena or possibly the O2 or Earls Court (none of which are available at the moment due to the Olympics, of course - London has nothing between Hammersmith and Hyde Park right now). I don't think it really helped having them at Download a few weeks earlier either. But, there were more there than I thought there would be and maybe they were the biggest band the promoter could actually get for the night. with the event and infrastructure already been booked and paid for.

The Cult / Mission / Killing Joke tour is a strange one. In London on their last three tours The Cult sold out Hammersmith, Royal Albert Hall and three nights at the Forum. The next step up from Hammersmith and the RAH is Wembley Arena (Brixton is fairly equal), and with the Mission and Killing Joke in tow I guess they thought it was worth seeing whether they could make the step up - maybe they arranged some sort of deal that allowed them to test the water and pull out of the arena dates? Anyway, I'm seeing that one in Birmingham, thanks to them clashing in London with Marillion.
