What's Jonatha Brooke like live ? she's playing Norwich Arts Centre (approx 200 ppl) and curious whether to go but dont know any of her stuff. I remember seeing her years ago supporting Nat Merchant (with her band "the story" ??) but was so long ago I've forgotten!

I saw her a few times in London a couple of years ago and thought she was great, but I'm not sure if it's going to be centred on the Woodie Guthrie stuff she just released - I assume there'll be some older material in there too. Tickets are only Ł12 or so, so it's worth a punt.

Just seen Sterephonics at O2 and Kings of Leon at Wembley arena. Both were excellent. Courteeners supporting Stereophonics were excellent, M83 with the Kings of Leon were rubbish. The Killers await at the O2 in February.

Booked my first gig of the year - Beirut and Shearwater at Kentish Town Forum in May

Really pleased that Beirut is/are coming over, as they are one of the bands on my relatively short list now of bands I really want to see live and haven't done so already. A bit of a mystery what sort of band he will bring with him, though.

Saw Airborne Toxic Event last night. Only heard the current single, but enjoyed the whole set. Their best stuff is definitely the ones "inspired" by Arcade Fire

Provided my mate got tickets today then we're going to see George Thorogood in Manchester on 28th May. Other than "Bad To The Bone" I can't think of any songs I know by him. Just having a listen on Spotify now.
