Works out about £45 delivered.
Tempting, but won't you also get whacked by customs on that

Thanks - just been reading that, is it right you're still liable for VAT though (about £2.00)

Don't think it happened to me last time I ordered...

Surprised it's not been reprinted yet...

I ordered it 2 years ago.

There was a smaller paperback edition, but that looks like it's gone out of print too. Probably reprint it when the Jedi volume comes out.

The paperback isn't as good as the hard back, the pictures aren't great. I'm still after the Star Wars Making of book

Who would I take it up with though, Parcel Force say they are 'unable to enter into any dispute regarding customs charges'.

The HMRC website isn't a lot better, all I can find in their contact us is 'Appealing a decision where Customs have seized something from you'

I'm no expert. Just googling brought up this.

Mullethead - Any success in appealing the charge? I found the hardback at a decent price but don't want to fall fowl of the charges either. Or maybe theres a way to give them a heads up so they don't slap charges on in the first place.

I had this book delivered from Amazon US this week, no import Vat or charges. Books are not subject to these charges. The custom note should say printed matter.

The only time I have had problems with books from the US is when they have been packaged together with CDs or DVDs as the custom note states these items and customs charge on the whole order then

Well i bought it from abebooks.com for £36 including shipping. I also asked them to clearly mark the outside of the package as 'BOOKS' so that evil Royal Mail get any ideas. Hopefully that works.

I just saw that, but i'm still glad i went via the US as it doesn't seem to give a release date.

It's given me the bug to collect books for other movies in the same style. I saw ones for ET and Indiana Jones, are they any good? Are there other film books like those worth collecting?
