Lost 3x13 - "The Man From Tallahassee" - Spoilers abound!

Another filler episode

Yeah, sure

I really enjoyed it - a nice action packed episode. Answered questions while adding to them too (the box?!?) and introducing yet another new character onto the island even if I saw the twist coming. Also nice to see some real progression of the storyline, the feeling that it's actually going somewhere, and that they haven't forgotten about the kidnapped kids which haven't been mentioned in a while. Even the flashback taught us something new rather than being dreary and forgettable.

It's kinda hard to be critical, particularly on a "badass Locke" ep. Although no doubt it'll be back to the tedious hobbit, mother and see-into-the-future-man next week to pad out the season. At least there's not long between eps nowadays.

Funny episode.

Locke getting thrown out the window was pure comedy gold.
Locke blowing up the submarine, again gold.

It's a Locke episode, it was bound to be better than the others, although seemed a bit padded out (summary, they hide 10ft away from Jack for about 6 hours till it's dark, then Kate/Sayid get kidnapped trying to rescue the pianist that is Jack. Locke kidnaps Ben, forces Alex to get the C4 to blow up the Sub which Jack was an hour away from taking.... twist, Locke's father is on the Island).

Hmm. More father stuff. Im beginning to suspect that might be what it's all about in the end.

Enjoyable episode.

Crazy speculation:

Is there a chance the others also have Jack's dad (dead or alive?!) and showed him to Jack resulting in Jack being a bit more co-operative, wild theory I know, but ya know it is Lost.

That wouldn't be that surprising, considering Jack has "seen" his Dad before, the Island's magical powers, the fact he was missing from his coffin and The Others magical ability to kidnap people. Perhaps it wasn't a hallucination after-all.

The more I think about it, the more having a box of magical tricks feels like a cop-out though...

Ok folks mark it down...

Lost resumed expected quality levels in episode 13. Brilliant stuff, and what a gobsmacker of a cliff hanger...

Although I was expecting them to open the door to reveal a new sub

Next week's is now setup perfectly. It should better this episode if they do it right and give us some answers!

Edit - So was Locke's dad just in a room, or was this the 'box' that Ben was talking about?

Is the trailer for next episode online yet? Any links, cheers

Not been mentioned but another little titbit of mystery.

Locke hiding, fat bloke comes in and calls Kate and Sayid some other names and then Ben asks for the man from tallahassee

So what we learned....
  • The island is invisible
  • People come to stay, for a better life?
  • A box that things come out of whatever you want, perhaps why people go there and the island is secret
  • Its starting to sound like Lynch will be a guest writer soon...

Lost's magic box = St. Elsewhere's snowglobe.

And just how do they get to a sub docked in the ocean when Sayid's map last week showed the whole barracks encased by the security fence without encountering said fence again?

They probably just turn the security fence on and off when they won't to get through.

The man is Tom and he used Kate and Sayids surnames. Speaking of our favourite Iraqi I wonder what Ben is going to do to him for telling Alex that her mother is still alive.

I don't think the 'box' is going to be some magical device but is more of Bens BS the Losties.

John is by far the simplest character on this show, everything he does on the Island is motivated by his desire to stay and to become the man that he wasn't in the 'real' world. BTW who else thinks Lockes dad was the conman who tricked Sawyers mother. One of his alias was Seward which sounds similar.

Getting a little bored of Kate vascilating between Jack and Sawyer, ffs woman you made a decision when you slept with Sawyer, can you at least stick to it for more than a few days? I know running is your thing but this is getting ridiculous. Anyway you're not his type, he likes skinny blondes who let him fix them.

Can anyone describe the previews for me please.

No 23/24.

They probably don't have titles for the remaining 6 yet.
