Cool The Amazing Race 10 (starts 17th Sept)

CBS show homepage

No doubt I'll be the only one watching this again

Still better than most of the crap on terrestrial at the moment.

You will not be on your own as I have watched every series the problem is I don't get the time to watch then that quickly usually so have to stay away from the thread due to spoilers etc.
This is probably the last time you will see me in the thread now.

Not on in the UK yet.

Season 9 was great. Season 8 (Family Edition) was dreadful.

Season 10 looks to have quite a mix of couples so could be quite interesting.

Is there any word on when series 9 and 10 will be coming to the UK. Presumably it will be on LivingTV2?

I thought 8 was pretty decent, at least there was someone worth supporting. They still hadn't fixed the editing problem, hopefully they've watched Treasure hunters since then

According to a review on AICN of the 2 hour season premiere they've mixed it up a bit this season with surprises in there. Hurrah for ******* off the contestants!

Not a fan of reality shows at all, but gave this a watch and it seems like a fun show, a bit different form the sci-fi/drama shows I usually watch, makes for something different

Bad luck for the muslims; what a harsh beginning. I was half-expecting the last team to get the first start, so that teams might gamble on coming last for some mid-leg checkpoints.

I wonder if the girl with a prosthetic leg has a disadvantage on planes. They implied that she was pre-boarded because of it, so I'd imagine she'd disembark last as well (assuming the point is to give a disabled passenger a clear path in the aisles). But then, the other teams on that flight looked to be boarding an empty plane... maybe all the teams are forced to disembark at the same time as a means of evening it up. Fingers crossed that they stay away from the US for most of the race, lest extreme security measures see her leg confiscated.

Enjoyed the bickering couple (as I do every season), and Terry & Tom joining in with the cheerleading on the bikes. The single mums from Alabama were funny too; they look set to annoy me with constant under-the-breath jibes at other teams who happen to be doing better than they are.

Favourite moment was when one contestant was telling a taxi driver her destination: "the Great Wall... the Great Wall of China". Just in case he didn't know which one she meant.

Must say it hasn't grabbed me yet, but I usually struggle early on due to the large number of teams - I forget which is which until it gets down to the last 6 teams or so!

It did seem a little 'predictably unpredictable' to eliminate the first team though - having had it spelled out so clearly that there'd be new twists in the show, and then seeing the rather obvious 'last team' board they had to get, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen. Shame they couldn't have kept the suspense for the audience - if they'd just turned up last and were told they were eliminated, we'd have all been shocked, but they'd ruined the suspense by mentioning it earlier, in my opinion.

I'd earmarked the Korean guys as favourites but they seem to be a couple of numpties.

Shame that the muslim fellas went out so early. What was that bit about when they refused to shake hands with the sexy blonde beauty queens?

I actually liked the Indian couple too - thought they would bve safe as they had already had the elimination

Was really quite painful watching the one legged lady climb the wall. I have a feeling they will sneek a leg in somewhere for her.

I wasn't really watching at the start when they were being introduced but I got the impression that woman wanted a relationship with that leg doctor. I must have missed something though as it's hugely apparent that's he's gay.

Oh and what's with that father daughter team where the dad breaks down crying when he thinks about his daughter being a lesbian? And right in front of her

Anyone still following this?, I had been rooting for David and Mary even though they had very little chance of actually winning it.

Of the remaining couple I will be cheering on the beauty queens as they have rarely poot a foot wrong so far and probably deserve it at the moment, does anyone else sit praying every week that something will go wrong for Rob and Kimberly just so we can see him blow up?, the guys a grade A nutter.

Yep - been following it and really enjoying it too.

Want the Cho's to win. Can't stand any of the other teams now that David and Mary have gone.

Agree about Rob

I had been wanting the Cho's to win but the whole 6 pack thing got on my nerves, I also think they'll struggle with the repelling as one of them is scared of heights.

Next week looks good
