More importantly, when is Film 2006 returning? And why does this show stop during one of the heaviest movie release periods of the year?

It’s the BBC’s antiquated idea that us plebs won’t watch a programme about sitting in a darkened room watching a film while it happens to be warm outside.

Couldn't believe this was coming back again so soon!

Talk about jumping the shark. I used to watch this all the time, but really it is just overkill now - and ross has become an annoying Tit.

And he always has Gervais on doesn't he???

Ha! You're probably right. It's just that they seem to put it back on at the most uneventful times of year for film (except for over Christmas, and then the Oscar show in January).

As for 'Friday Night' returning, I only ever caught the repeats anyway. And I only generally watch if there's someone on I want to see. I don't mind the programme but like with all chat shows: boring guests = boring viewing.

There's also a new season of Jonathan Ross's Japanorama on BBC3 next week. (The reason why there's no Film 2006 during the summer)

That’s not true. Film [insert year] has never been on during the Summer. This is not a recent thing.

True. Plus Japanorama would not / does not make up for their not being a Film series on for at least part of the summer (I'm not saying they need to run for the whole summer). I guess we can always watch 'Talking Movies' on BBC2.

It is getting less and less interesting, he just seems to rotate the same guests over and over... in a way it's quite bizarre how BBC get away with it.

More a case of it being bizarre how HE gets away with it. Persuades the Beeb to give him millions and then just has the same few mates back on again and again and again. And then to add insult to injury he has the same few people on his radio show on a Saturday morning too.

I like Ricky Gervaise but with all his Ross radio and TV appearances he's wearing extremely thin. Had to laugh when even after all that he went on Ross' rival's show - Parkinson - as well. And then he keeps saying he keeps turning down American TV shows and movies because he doesn't care about the exposure or "fame". Riiiiiiiiiiight!

In all fairness, Gervais has the follwing to plug;

the new series of Extras
his new Flanimals book
his current podcast series
the Karl Pilkington book

I know Gervais is a regular on Ross, but celebrities do the chat show circuit with far less to promote.

Oh well....If he’s got product to flog, by all means....

The Beeb have a vested interest in Gervais plugging Extras but it’s well past time a strong producer took Ross and the booking policy firmy in hand.

Ricky was on the Richard and Judy show plugging away. I still think he's great, I just find him funny
