have to say though, I'm enjoying the Black family being in it - thought it was a bad idea when they first appeared, but Leon is the man!
The N-Word is rather topical in the states right now though.

Watched a bunch of S6 episodes last night to catch up on the last few weeks, and the wife and I were wetting ourselves over them.

Pretty good. Pretty, pretty good...

Have had a recommendation of a Curb-ish series starring Lisa Kudrow called The Comeback, by the way. Apparently a similar cringe-worthiness to the show!

The Comeback wasn't bad, it's much more cringeworthy IMHO and not as funny but still not a bad watch at all. It's closer to Extras than Curb.

Sounds good to me! I've always enjoyed that sort of uncomfortable comedy - CYE, The Office, Fawlty Towers, and so on...

Classic episode.... two to go though ;(

Did anyone else miss the news that Larry's real wife had actually divorced him a few months ago?
"Well, after the divorce, I went home and turned all the lights on!"

Really? Is that why Cheryl left him in the show? Was hoping she would be coming back, but Larry appears to have moved on pretty quickly!

Some great moments in this episode (I especially loved the thumbs up between larry and his bald brother) but Ive enjoyed other episodes in this series more. The introduction of the blacks has been genius, with Leon now one of my favorite curb characters ever, more Larry and Leon adventures please!

Still hoping Larry gets back with Cheryl soon

Cheryl isn't Larry David's real wife!

Yeah, I meant it seems that the reason his show wife left him probably borne out of his real-life experience so he can reflect his experiences of that.. it seems the character has moved his life on pretty fast with no more than a brief memory of Cheryl in that episode, so maybe he's content being single like the real Larry is now.

Well Larry said it was just a coincidence.

Quote:
Larry David has denied claims that the breakdown of his marriage in TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm is based on his real-life divorce.

The comedian's onscreen wife Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) is seen walking out on him in an upcoming episode of the show.

David's real wife Laurie filed for divorce in July after 14 years of marriage.

But he said the storyline was simply a "very weird" coincidence, insisting that he had written the plot before the couple announced their separation.

He said: "This was all written before any of my marriage problems. I knew when we were filming what was going on. Obviously, it didn't just happen overnight."

Leon's advice was best in the 'The Rat Dog' epsiode.

Agreed, it was great.

Seems to me that the divorce storline is just to allow Larry to get into some hilarious situations while dating other women that obviously wouldn't be possible if Cheryl hadn't left him.

I expect Cheryl will be back with him by the end of this season.

Oh and as for Leon, surely "Did you stab my aunt in the stomach?" is another classic line?

Well, we know Steve Coogan plays a Marriage Counsellor in an upcoming ep, so I'm sure Cheryl will be back in the show.
