Toy Story 2 Tv Premier Question-Why the delay??

Anyone know why it has taken nearly 5 years for Toy Story 2 to premier on terresterial TV?

Yet Minority Report only took about 3 years

??

I think the usual 'window' is 2 years from DVD release to terrestrial TV, with Sky /Pay per View etc. in between. With TS2 being a Disney movie, i imagine The Disney Channel probably had exclusive broadcast rights for a longer period of time. I don't remember TS2 or any other Pixar movie being on Sky.

I didn't watch Toy Story 2 on BBC1 but I did watch Shrek. I'm sure it was the US version: "Dead broad off the table..."

Don't think so, it had the replacement voices (Jonathan Ross and whoever replaced Joan Rivers) sorry you meant the first one, didn't watch that so don't know.

Toy Story 2 has been on the Disney channel during a free weekend last/this year sometime but don't know if it's ever been on one of the Sky movie channels. I'm sure that Incredibles was on box office a while ago but i don't know if that counts.

Toy story 2 has been doing the rounds on Disney channel since last Christmas, never on main Sky movie channels though. The weird one was Priates of the Caribean which was on Disney around 4 months poss more before getting on to Sky movies

If I recall the BBC signed a deal with Disney to show their films a year or so back, rather than sign a deal on a film by film basis. Hence we only got Mulan, Aladdin, etc. fairly recently. Hence it took a while for TS2 to make it to TV

Disney are very restrictive of their cartoon films as they know they can make a killing on the DVD and previously VHS sales. Also they have their own premium TV channels on Sky and cable so why devalue them by having them on free TV quickly.

Next year the main Disney channels are going into the basic entertainment packages on Sky and cable but they are launching a premium Disney film channel to show all their classic cartoons and films.

Must have been, because I've seen it, or at least bits of it, and I never saw it at the cinema and have never had access to any movie channels.

Well I cant remember it ever being on disney or terrestrial. If I recall it was released on video for the first time about 91-92ish and soon disapeared after that. Then it surfaced on dvd about 2001 and quickly got deleted.
