given the staggeringly poor sales of the dvds and series in general...i am not holding my breath for a release anytime soon....shame as i would quite like to see the rest...while i never felt it was as good as could have been...definitely showed signs of major improvement over the first 13

Well I for one really liked this series... I hope they release the second set of 13 episodes as it would be nice o have them in widescreen and 5.1.

were they not shown in 16:9 on tv?

by default you get dolby 2.0 on the dvds... much much better in 5.1

also why no chapter points?

They were widescreen but no match for the dvd transfers, also cut up by ITV who lets be honest are responsible for the show's failure I think.

Series two is still being repeated on saturdays, and the second DVD set will be out later this year. Despite some of the scaremongering that's been posted.

Indeed. Given that the rights will all have been secured, the relatively inexpensive process of putting this brand new show onto DVD (no restoration required or anything like that) would be justified even if the sales were low. A bit of extra money made from the DVD sales is better than none at all.

Old TV shows that have really bad DVD sales figures for the first season sometimes get the chop, because it's an expensive and complex process to get the rights for the followup seasons, plus perhaps a restoration as well.

I would imagine that there are enough people interested, worldwide, to justify a DVD release. Indeed, probably more people want the DVD than watch the show when it's ruined by being buried in the wretchedness that is M.O.M.

I never saw it cos of the daft scheduling.. just hired volume 1 and really impressed. Real pity that the BBC didn't buy the rights..

Bought series 1 & 2 boxset cheap as a blind buy. Enjoyed it much more than I expected

bt, the last 2 episodes of Season 2 DVD are the wrong way round - dominion then grey skulls. ! Wondered why the last to 1 episode was good and the final one a bit of a let down for a finale! oh, and zero extras on Series 2.
