Pretty good episode I thought - the super-powered battle was good fun

Another good ep, only slightly blighted by the "who cares?" plot of Token's parents splitting up.

Yep, good episode with not a lot of Lana time.

Anyone else notice the symbolism of Clark wearing the red claok/cape thing when he recovered, and then later on he had on a tightish fitting blue t-shirt remeniscent of the blue suit he eventually wears.

Not sure whats going on with Jonathan though, I reckon he might be slowly being taken over by Jor-El.

Clark ALWAYS wears a red, white or yellow top in EVERY episode.

Sometimes a white t-shirt. (there is a reason for this, but cannot remember it)

Yeah, but it just seemed to stick out this time. It just looked like it was symbolising what was to come in the last Lex/Clark chat where Clark had his blue top on, and Lex was in all black.

The people of Krypton (more specifically Kal-El's parents) wore bright white outfits.

That may be it.

I liked the bit when he got up quickly, and the red blanket looked like a cape flapping behind him.

Another one of those episodes which so badly has the potential to do brilliant things with brilliant possibilities messed up and all over in 30 minutes with the trade mark "THE PERSON WHO KNOWS CLARKS SECRET IS IN A COMA, HE'LL NEVER RECOVER" - yawn how many times have I heard that one.

Subplot #1: Lana deffinatly leaving - best subplot in a long time, right now get off my television set, I don't want to have to see you again unless its in some nice magazine or some extensive XXX section of my DVD Collection

Subplot #2: Bonding between Chloe and Pete over Pete's parents splitting up, great another excuse to put Pete into the storyline and another chance for Pete to hate Clark over "YOUR FAMILY IS SO PERFECT CLARK" - yawn had enough of that.

Minor Subplot #3: Papa Kent + Mama Kent + Clark Kent against Jor El, who will win? Well we still don't know and we'll never know (unless that's what the finale is gearing us up towards, the mysterious deal that was made - £20 says end of 3x21 OR 3x22 has that deal come out in full).

Minor Subplot #4: That kid, come on even though the whole episode was based on him it seemed the biggest waste of time ever, the advances and ramifications from it were far better, I'd have prefered to see the Chief himself get corrupt with power and have the dagger. Clark vs an effective clone of himself (woa kind of like Superman III) with great effects (I liked it when the tree was thrown by Clark and when it hit) - but still he had next to no airtime and potential to have so much more.

Minor Subplot #5: Lex and Lional, which one is more evil? Well Lional is probably going to die soon because he has that disease and about 2 minutes before he does die he'll see Clark do amazing things and say "I now know your secret Cla......" then die in a brilliant blaze of glorific television. That leaves Lex, Lex has never been good so I don't see how he can turn evil.

Rant over, Smallville Season 3 has had so much potentional but it is wasting ALL it's chances on stupidity and repeating same concepts, I suspect the final 2 episodes will not be stupid, but if they are then no Season 4 for me.

So Kryptonians make a knife that was designed specifically to crumble to dust when Lex Luthor touches it?

Didn't they say somewhere in the ep that it would disintegrate if the 'wrong' person touched it? But then does that mean Jeramiah was supposed to have it?

I thought any member of that tribe could touch it to use its powers before it was return to the rightful owner?

He is both Naman and Kal-El - they are one and the same. Unless you expect an old indian legend to get all the names right hundreds of years in advance

Think of it like this, before Jesus Christ turned up there were many prophecies about the "Messiah" but Jesus wasn't called "Messiah"...

if it is only a prophecy why does the key from the ship work in the cave and how come the knife that guy took gave him the same powers that superman has even though they're just Kawachi people who had a prophecy of a super-being. It doesn't explain how they're connected with it, does it?

The scene where clark and the old man meet Jerry in the burial grounds is so Star Wars like.

"The knife is corrupting you!"
"You are only holding me back"

etcetc (I can't actually remember what they said)
