It's been on Amazon's German site for a while now so we should get a release in the UK too.

Any word if this is getting the original mono, the stereo from the original DVD or DD5.1 from the SE (dropping Mono/Stereo)?

The 5.1 remix is okay but is completely unnecessary and has the usual problem of being too OTT in places.

Added the art/av specs/region coding. Only 5.1 is listed.

Be nice if the colours in the final scene have been restored. I don't think they'd have a problem with the MPAA these days.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Scorsese has grown to prefer the "revised" colour in that scene.

That's what I'm interested in seeing as well. I remember Scorsese talked about this in the audio commentary... which, if they are using the same commentary, would sound odd if they did restore the colours. So, I've got a feeling they might not have... unless they remove that section of the commentary.

Grrr! I so want to say the F word in Sony's direction but will hold my tongue. It's such a classic. Why not include at least the stereo remix too?

There was so much blood in the final scene of the film that the MPAA would not give the film a rating (meaning it would not be shown) unless something was done about it, so the scene was darkened so that the blood was less prominent and seemed like there was less of it. The film was then given an R rating (in America).

Yep, I watched the end again on YouTube the other day and there is still a lot of blood. But it would be interesting to see how it did originally look.

I'm looking forward to seeing some screen caps. I might replace my original R1 DVD in slapper case.
