Have you logged into your account (on the website) and set the quality to 'Best'?

Sometimes pausing it for a second can sort out any buffering shenanigans.

Thanks,_ I'll try that suggestion later. I did wonder if it detected that I only had an 8mb download speed and reduced the quality somehow.

Cheers

I can't see an option to alter quality on the website...Will have a better look later

Have tried HDMI cable/rebooting/resetting with no improvement of picture quality. A quick google shows me I am not alone with this problem but not everyone suffers. I do wonder if it sees that my broadband is only 8mb download and rduces quality somehow

It could be. I have fiber and have no problems with quality.

Thanks, other streaming services have no issue delivering HD material, its just a bit frustrating...I might not renew at the end of the offer period if I cant improve it. Penny Dreadful is a difficult watch with all those dark scenes....

Streaming is still limited on all formats - lots of blacks and blocking, banding is often present....

Frustratingly, Boardwalk Empire is now available to watch, its a show I really want to see, but the first five minutes of the first episode are almost unwatchable because of the picture quality. There seem to be lots of people suffering with this but no solution...

Solution is better broadband.

Possibly...there are lots of people on the Now TV forums with similar issues who have much faster broadband connections than I do, and I don't have issues streaming from other providers. Its academic anyway as high speed broadband isnt available where I live.

Its a shame as right now the content is really interesting.

cheers

We have 50mb VM fibre and one of the movies I put on really badly buffers/breaks up but then I watched the football on Sunday and that was spot on!

Oddly, I have no buffering or break up issues at all, just low quality!

I think, tbh, my issue was more about the device. I have a Now TV box but also can access Now TV via my YouView box - it might've been the latter that was breaking up. The white Now TV box was fine for the football. Maybe YV need to improve their software or something.

Its connection issues at Skys end if you ask me...

Been watching the US open on a PS3 - if you press select you can see what the bandwidth etc. is and sometimes its showing around 12mb (max for PS3 to BT fibre), other times it drops to below 1mb, when the PQ dramatically gets worse or it even buffers. When its working the PQ is near HD for me.

Also the PS3 gave a much better near HD quality PQ compared to the Now TV box.

That's a point, I can try using my sons PS3 to see if there's a difference. Or maybe even connect my nexus 7 to the TV....

I do have a BT vision you view box also but that only supports the Movies option, not Entertainment.

Yeah, found that silly (we have a generic Humax YV box) but we were only looking for sport (not included).

Sport worked fine via Now TV box and PS3.

The picture quality is much better via my sons PS3.

Now to decide if I can get through four seasons of Boardwalk empire before they remove it at the end of October...
