Question Life of Brian and Time Bandits release?

Is there any news on these dvd's?
I contacted Anchor Bay a while ago and was told that Time Bandits is slated for a September release.
Haven't heard since then.
Will the Criterions go oop or not?

LoB has already been out via Anchor Bay (owner speaking). You mean a re-release (assuming it was deleted) ?

Add a "U" in front of LoB, and I think you may be right.

(according to the DVD Times review here)

Sorry, I have no idea if LoB is anamorphic.

Criterion's Life of Brian is anamorphic. Their edition of Time Bandits is not.

The Criterion LoB is anamorphic I have a copy also confirmed by their website

http://www.criterionco.com/asp/release.asp?id=61

The UK release from Paramount is only 4.3 at the time it came out I read they rushed it out before they lost the rights. The Pythons actually had a web campaign asking fans to boycott it ! Now rights with someone else, Anchor Bay ? so may get more extras and w/s next time.

However do consider the Criterion as R0 its very good with decent extras only downside is price at around £24.99

The Anchor Bay website states Time Bandits is coming in September

http://www.anchorbay.co.uk/perl/search.pl?CO=ABD4009

expect an anamorphic picture (unlike the Criterion), but not sure if we will get the Criterion commentary or a new one, extras not yet confirmed.
