Robin Hood (2018)

Reminds me of Guy Ritchie's King Arthur...

It's not Robin Hood without a healthy dose of English Kurge

Crikey, this is a movie no one asked for.. Are guys running around with bows and arrows popular?

It looks like it is made for TV using some of Stephen Amell's hand me downs. And what are the clothes Ben Mendelsohn is wearing at 0:29 with the hairdo I thought it made him look quite modern and the city is nothing I recognize.

Apart from Ben, Taron and Jamie(s) its a veritable who's who of actors you never heard of.

V for Vendetta vibe from the crowd scenes.

Jamie Foxx is better than this what was he thinking?

Might glance at it when it comes to NowTV but this will bomb at the cinema

Nothing about this says Robin Hood to me.. It looks more like a game -> film adaptation of something like Assassin's Creed.

Also; Any film that has someone deliberately looking in a different direction to where they're shooting goes on my **** list. Stop it.

You're all being too kind. It's a loud, shiny, cgi-swamped turd aimed at morons, and will even make Van Helsing look good.

Van Helsing wasn't that terrible, certainly better than I, Frankenstein.

Thought it looked silly fun, then it just looked silly. He really likes the sort of half spin and fire jump shot doesn't he? Very Assassins Creeds as said, after the last poor attempt why do they need to ruin a decent British legend? Being Robin Hood seems largely irrelevant to the plot.

Plenty of reviews in; and sad to say mostly they are all appear negative, which from the trailers they couldn't have been otherwise.

Wow, just watched the trailer for this. Thought it was some kind of future dystopian re-imagining to start with. Then it just looked ******.

The trailer looks awful and doesn't seem to try and advertise any kind of story at all, just lots of explosions and slow motion nonsense that we've seen a million times before.

Is Robin Hood such a popular character it needs a reboot constantly?

No. But the Costner version made so much cash, they've been trying to duplicate its success ever since.

I'm still waiting for the big-screen version of Maid Marian & Her Merry Men...

Someone on my Twitter feed recently posted they'd written a book with a unique perspective- Robin Hood but with Maid Marian as the main character. I sent them a link to the above on YouTube...

I went with the best intentions today but this was ****.

The chav Robin Hood that no-one wanted. It couldve been made by Guy Ritchie for all that.

The voiceover at the beginning telling you to forget everything youve been told (because you'll be comparing it to better films/tv shows) sets the low standard.

Rob (because Robin is too long a name) falls in love with Maid Marion when she tries to steal from him wearing something from Ann Summers. He is then drafted to war.

The best thing is the cast, Taron Egerton still has a lot of goodwill after Kingsman, Jamie Foxx seems game, Ben Mendelsohn is typecast doing the same shtick, but Jamie Dornan is wasted. Maid Marion wasnt great and had zero chemistry with Robin.

Even the cgi near the end takes you out of the film.
