Actor chemistry that never was (so far)

Are there any actors that you felt would have made a great on-screen (Male-Female) couple but have never appeared together in any film?

I always felt that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Olivia Wilde would have jelled as a fun couple.

Not a male/female pairing, but I've always thought that Zach Braff and Matthew Rhys would make very convincing on-screen brothers.

Looking at it that way would me more difficult but since you mentioned it, I always wanted to see Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood act together s two tough guys (maybe cops) forced to work together. Perhaps in the early or mid-70s when both were in their prime.

Better...

Clint Eastwood as an assassin (chanelling a bit of Bronson's the mechanic) with Connery as the mark, but Eastwood does not know about the mark's secret service background making him a lot tougher to kill. Unlike the majority of films in his filmography Eastwood gets killed at the end. And Connery finds who ordered the hit (his own Governent and he dies in a massive shootout with some explosions thrown in)

As male/female couples, some of the best have been ones that didn't like working with each other; so they do have to act instead of enjoying themselves.

You've obviously thought about this a lot. Throw in some ghosts and we're onto a winner.
