On the 1st point I honesty don't know as it's impossible to have an adult talk without said person dropping down to name calling

When I say Prior Knowledge what I mean is that said person is acting all smug about parts of the film being obvious what the meanings of certain aspects are, however as said person already knows due to reading the book, it's impossible for them to give a honest answer.

It would be like me knowing a dartboard number layout which starts at 20 then goes.1, 18, 4, 13 etc, and knowing this.
Then you seeing the series of numbers, saying I don't know what they refer to, and me coming over all gobby saying god you must be dumb not understanding the meaning of those numbers.
My viewing of this production was without prior knowledge, and hence I took the film on face value, as is my work colleague and of course many many others. The book was different, and if you read the book you would understand the differences and "get it"
Without that, I'm suggesting many will simply not get it, as it's quite a dramatic change.
Or course, we try and chat, but as I say a few just drop down to name calling
I do my best to ignore it, as, as soon as you start to call someone names or hurl personal insults in a discussion, well, we all know what that means

I haven't read the book.

There are parts that are left open to your interpretation. This is not usually for a complex multi-part drama.

Smiles.... Not referring to your good self on the book front.
I'm genuinely interested to hear people's thoughts if they know absolutely nothing about the book/story before or after watching the Amazon series.
As you say open to interpretation.
I googled a bit about the book after watching and read some articles from these who had read it, remarking about how the change that's been made does alter things quite a lot. I will admit, the book does make things more clear and gets rid of a major puzzlement in the Amazon version.
At the end I came to one conclusion and for me, that was it, no chance of a second season.
However, it occurred to me, my conclusion could be flipped 180' and if that's so, and it's equally valid, them there can be a second season.
If there is, on a personal note, I just wish for god sake they are allowed to smile as it's portrayal is unrealistically miserable for almost every second.
(that's just a personal preference) no matter what terrible things happen to normal people there are still moments of happiness to be grabbed in the worst of times. (as I say just a small person point)

I watched both Seasons of EXTANT after this, which was a struggle at time. "But He's My Baby!!!"

I really don't understand your level of confusion.
I thought it was all quite self explanatory and simple once you accepted the "what happened if the Axis Powers won World War II" theme.
Yes, we have the mystery of WTF are the films, but that's the central theme of the series, and they're not going to reveal all so soon.

At least we have an idea about who the 'Man in the High Castle' is...

I doubt he's got that yet. The historic parallels and history have swept right past him so other elements of the very obvious probably have as well.

The only thing that confused me was the Trade Minister at the end.

And it's again, obviously not something we're supposed to know yet, although I'm not convinced the films will ever have an explanation.

I hope Tempest doesn't decide to watch The Leftovers, I think he'd have a meltdown.

I did find it excellent overall but I didn't feel the need or desire to run through it in a matter of days. More something to be digested a little after watching an episode or 2.

I took that to be that they exist in our timeline too and what they saw was the fate that had befallen them.

By 'Our Timeline' do you mean the viewer's?

Renewed for a second season.

Enjoyed the first season - the whole alternate realities thing was intriguing - although if they might spoil things if they ever attempt to explain it.

Let's hope the Nazis are treated more sympathetically too - they're just misunderstood!

Great news.

Some of those bloody Jews had better have a smile on their faces too. The holocaust was 20 years ago ffs.

Just finished this show. Utterly brilliant.

I only have one small complaint and I'm surprised no one's mentioned it before. No one ever seems happy or even smiles, and that is just unrealistic. Hopefully they fix that in Season 2, perhaps making a full song and dance episode.

Actually I have mentioned this once if not twice.

As I said in past posts, it's almost as if the director said.

"Ok, quiet on the set.. Everyone start frowning and looking miserable...... annnnnd.... ACTION"

So yes, totally agree with you, Humans will almost always make the best of things even in the most horrid scenarios, knee deep in mud in the trenches, I'm sure every second of every day they just sat there looking miserable.

Before anyone chimes in with some silly comment (which they will of course do) No I'm not saying party hats and balloons whilst they are being shot be Nazi's.
Just normal portrayal or humans acting like humans do. As opposed to artificially playing a part.
