No. Evil is a regime that murdered millions based on ethnicity, religion, sexuality.

That actually happened. Not something in your head.

Hard to draw a parallel with the holocaust and drones.

Never deny the past.
But only a fool would say they know what "any" future would end up being like.
We now are in a world we know and think is the only way things should be.

I'm just not stupid and dumb enough to blindly say we are the good guys and everything we do it for the best of mankind.

You also still insist that they would have changed once war was over Tempest, and I repeat, they committed genocide and murder long before the war, it was part of their goals to "cleanse" Europe of undesirable races, disabled, gay people, gypsies and the mentally ill.
They would not have stopped once they won and especially within the time frame of this show.

I just struggle to accept that, long term, when new generations of humans are born into the world as it is then, or as it is now, they would regard the way things are as wrong and need fighting against.

If you are born now, and decide the world, as we know it today, and accept not is right, and fight against it you are deemed as evil.

Humans are so short sighted, and happy to accept whats right when it suit us.

If my (or anyone here's) family was killed by a USA "Drone" the we may well have a different view on who the good guys are.

You have such a simplistic view of things.

Drones can be used for good and bad. Nazism less so.

The existence of a regime over time doesn't remove the ability of humans to rationalise the immorality of said regime.

You really need to widen your understanding and nuance. It's fairly non-existent right now. My daughter gets the subtleties at play. She's 12.

I don't think anyone here believes any one nation is beyond committing acts others may believe as evil but even you must see that as far away from the mass extermination of the large groups of society that were a part of the Nazi atrocities.

Do you actually believed in the Nazis won WW2 they'd have just stopped and made a happy, nice society where everyone could get along and "oops sorry" about the deathcamps?

Once again you're showing a complete lack of empathy and no understanding of human nature. I honestly believe you might be a touch autistic/apsergers syndrome.
You focus on the technological and show little in the way of humanity. You don't know when to stop or when you're being offensive and you fail to understand why others are offended by your "postulations".

It is not set now though or the future, the show was set in an alternate 1962.

The Nazi doctrine was to murder everyone who was not aryan and cleanse the world. The USA as far as I know are trying fight Isis, not murder every non American.

A drone attack on innocents would be a tragic, senseless act of war, Nazis murdering millions because they did not conform to their own racial standards of purity is genocide, I hope that's finally explained the difference.

Wait...what?

So you are saying, anyone born during the Holocaust would have seen it as perfectly OK? People are born with a moral compass. They don't need society to tell them when something is wrong.

I agree (the post in the paris terrorist attack was along on the same lines)

I think anyone should ignore his insane comments as its really took a **** over the discussion of the show.

Trying to drag the thread back on topic:
Watched the last episode, great show, 10 episodes felt like the right length. Only the sheriff was the only bad bit, bad acting and he didn't come across as menacing, more panto than killer. The last ep:

Season 2 will be interesting

Just to address this point (off thread topic)
In fact in real life I feel just the opposite.
Socially and in the work place I am always trying to take an interest in other peoples things.
Base upon general chatter...
How's the car working now, if your wife over her cold, was the journey getting here ok, etc.
Putting myself out to take a active, but polite interest.
I find pretty much everyone is the total opposite in return.
Self absorbed, uninterested, self focussed, and can't be bothered to even ask or take an interest in anything in response.
I find people in general rude, and yet despite this, continue to be polite, say good morning, wish people a good weekend/evening etc.

Perhaps I just work and am around a specific group of dicks?
Despite that, I continue to try to be the better person.

Sadly my work colleagues general interests stretch hardly beyond the football match at the weekend, the Daily Star headline, and the size of the breasts on the female visitor that day.

If only I were not making that up, it would be funny

That aside....... Is there another series a bit like Fringe I can watch?
Trying to watch EXTANT on Prime. I've got to around Episode 4 or 5, but starting to struggle a little with the pace, and that guy who reminds me exactly of Tim Cook from Apple.

Have you watched Dexter?

About the closest thing to Fringe I can think of, off the top of my head would be Lost, 12 Monkeys (haven't seen it), I liked The Lost Room but it's only a miniseries.

A lot of people seem to say The X-Files, but I don't really see the similarities beyond Law Enforcement officers checking out the weird.

Up to episode 7 and this just keeps getting better and better. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

Glad you are enjoying it.
It's a shame you have Prior Knowledge as i'd be keen on your take on it as someone who knows nothing about the book/story.

It will be interesting as one of my work colleagues has just started watching it, episode 4 I think he's got to. Just past the full speed into a tree car crash bit.

I know at the moment he's puzzled by the films as I was.
He's watching it at a much slower pace than me, and of course I'm not giving anything away as I would never spoil it for him. So will be interesting to see what he makes of it as it progresses, as like me, he knows nothing about this story/book, so it's all fresh for him also.
