Might take a look then. Am I right in thinking this one is based in modern time? I didn't rate the BBC version in November much.

Yes its set in Modern Times...and being honest, the only thing it has in common with the BBC series is the title... This one is very focussed on people and relationships.

It was OK although a little slow, between episodes 3 and 7 it didn't really move forwards at all and was very much filler. Then of course the last episode ended on the obligatory cliffhanger.

Sadly most of the people were very annoying and I didn't really care if they survived.

Liked it a lot. It is slow and the dogs are very black mirror but it’s intriguing. Part of it is filmed at my offices so my bike lock is almost in shot it’s fascinating to see how shots of place x are enhanced to be shots of place y

I stuck with it but I found it pretty tedious, the first episode was pretty good but after that it did seem that very little happened, didn't really find myself that invested in any of the characters and all seemed pretty much cookie cutter "band of survivors with secrets" type stuff. Even the finale was pretty much just more of the same with only a little bit of interest in the very final scene.

There was a little bit of mystery around the invaders which was interesting (though nothing exactly ground breaking there) but then didn't find the Boston Dynamics dogs particularly threatening.

As above, the most interesting part for me was spotting locations, I was amazed when they made it across the Wonky Bridge at Cabot Circus without feeling a bit funny and needing a sit down.

This show must be a bit of a Marmite one! The few comments here reflect us at home. My wife really enjoyed it and was keen to watch each episode. I found it pretty dull and didn’t like many of the characters. The switching between languages was a pain too. It was literally nothing like War of the Worlds. I think they used that name just to draw people in!

The BBC version was dire. I tried to stick with it but it was so slow and dull. Think I fell asleep halfway through the final episode and never went back to try and catch up.

Oh god. I was almost interested enough to take a look until you said that.
Always seems like "we don't actually have enough of a story" so let's spend ages on the "people" to pad it all out.
