Misread your post about the qualifiers being drawn on 20th June as being they started then although 12/13th July isn't an awful lot better.

Draw has been made for the new league cup group stages, very strange but it will cut down on meaningless pre-season games for fitness only with these competitive ones.

Good season ticket sales, the new boss will be a big draw as so will us returning however the banners on the upper tier will be unhappy about being moved
Going by the figure of 46,000, this must be for renewals only as the public sales haven't started yet and given that the place was half full last season then those figures seem somewhat inflated, unless there just happened to be 16-20k folk that paid but just didn't turn up.

not inflated at all.

There was 40k + season tickets sold last year. That's why official attendances was always over 40k as they are counted even if you don't turn up which a lot didn't towards the end of Delias reign. The upper tier that is always closed has been sold to general public plus renewals so close to 46k sold so far before general sale to public on Monday.

Fair enough, just seemed to be for most of the season that there was a lot of empty seats and it is a strange situation when so many pay for a ticket but never turn up.

Neil Lennon becomes Hibs new manager, he should have enough to get Hibs promoted next season.

Anthony Stokes released by Celtic, maybe he'll end up at Hibs. Kazim-Richards, Cole and Scepovic gone too with Ciftci also likely to depart, looks like Celtic will be signing two new strikers this summer.

Meanwhile strangely, Mark Warburton seems to have disappeared, not a peep or comment from him since the Scottish Cup final win by Hibs??!!

Warburton was on holiday after the final and he did make comment about the final too. He was obviously disappointed about our performance but quite shocked about the aftermath of the pitch invasion and assaults on his players. He is now back in the UK and we are actively trying to bring in more new players. I'd hope we will bring in another 3 or 4 players on top of the 3 we have already signed. Need cover in central defence and also a centre forward as showed when Waghorn was missing for a few months.

The celtic payoffs going well, seen talk that Lennon will want to take Commons and Stokes to Hibs. I'd also expect there will be more moves in way of free transfers or loans between them. Lot of pressure on Lennon to get them promoted and there could be a few challengers with Falkirk, Dundee Utd and St Mirren all thinking they could win the league.

Massive season for Hibs, they need to get up next season as if they failed to get promoted again then they would be in serious financial bother. No idea why their fans don't support them as much as Hearts fans. Must be a similar level of split across the city yet Hearts get much closer to capacity while Hibs get just over half full.

Fixture list for the next season up -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36555958

Celtic start away to Hearts (I always thought league winners first game was at home), Rangers at home to Hamilton and Aberdeen away at St J. New years OF fixture is back at Ibrox and there is a break following this match for a month for a winter shutdown.

Celtic asked for their 2nd tie to be at home ,so they can use the "cancel " wildcard that everyone can take advantage of for the glamour friendly against Inter.

First ever New years game against newcomers The Rangers should be interesting

Motherwell and partick thistle have thrown a hissy fit after the split due to only having 2 home games total against the old firm where as some of their rivals have two home games against both sides of the old firm game, so 4 in total. They are now demanding compensation. what happened to sell out Saturdays while we were away, wasn't the league meant to be booming without us?

If we finish top 6 at the split then we would be due to play Celtic, hearts and Aberdeen at home however this would likely lead to us having more home than away games so will end up playing away at hearts or Aberdeen 3 times and only once at home.

Top league of 18 or 20 would solve this

League was booming but it's not about that. It's about being disadvantaged to their nearest rivals. Your right though we need to do away with the unbalanced split , either none at all or do it after two games.

The league has done well without Rangers and it'll do well with them.

People might point to European success as a barometer but let's be honest, that was bought with money the game didn't have and that spending is what killed the old Rangers. Return to that and they'll kill themselves again.

The league split is unfair. Every club should play every team the same number of times. It's a ridiculous thing.

Either go back to 10 teams, or increase to 20.

Probably as well just renaming this one, the it will at least look busy. We used to have about 15/20 folk posting regularly.

Still find it strange that the european campaign has started so early for Aberdeen/Hearts, as most teams haven't even played pre-season friendlies yet.

We have assembled a good squad, couple of big players that I'd not have thought possible for us to get hold of and we have managed to clear out a bit of deadwood.

Rodgers will be a big draw for players and Dembele could be a great player for Celtic.

Predictions -
SPFL winner - Rangers (heart over head - Celtic should win the league this year)
League Cup - Rangers
Scottish Cup - Celtic
Relegated - Partick Thistle
Promoted - Hibs (has to be 3rd time lucky surely)
